No, that does
not sound like alternator failure to me. If it were an alternator failure that caused your
MO to die when you got off the highway, the battery would have discharged to the point that it would have been unable to restart the engine.
It could be the fuel pump, engine management system, etc.
Let us know what the dealer says.
