We like white - 1st choice, dark red (forgot the name) - 2nd choice and 3rd choice is a tie between gun metallic and blue.
Black is very good too, but we were afraid it will need a lot of maintenance to keep it clean. Orange one is gorgeous too, but is too bright for us. I think there are no outsiders in colors for Murano - all are good. It's just we love White most of all.
I won't do black or white. I consider them non-colors. My last car was gray, and that got really boring after a couple years. I'd do red, but everyone around here who doesn't have black, white or gray does red, and I wanted something different. My absolutely favorite color is a dark cobalt blue. Unfortunately the Murano blue is a slate blue, which i can't stand. So I did the orange with the cream interior. Check out my garage pics. That color is actually a "burnt" orange, so it's not super bright. And it grows on ya. Trust me.
Yeah, that tan cashmere interior is so good, especially with Orange color. Here in Canada you can't have cashmere unless you go Platinum and we barely made it for SV. My wife loves white and she's going to win this fight but if it was me - I might have gone for orange with that cashmere leather - it is really different than most cars.
Face it, both the color and the car itself is a "love it or hate it" proposition. There really is no middle gound - heh. (I love earthtones.)
As far as interior color limitations in Canada, that sucks. And yeah, i'll be paying for my Platinum until i die, but my kids are grown and I'm never going to buy another house, so "I gots me money to burn." (Well, kinda)
Oh I agree, Murano is so good looking AND comfy to drive. We were looking foe some mid-size SUV but we wanted very comfy and quiet cabin. When we saw Murano we were half-sold on its look only. After we test drove it - we were completely sold. Very comfortable car.
I like the white with tan interior I have now but if I were to get a new car I would get the pacific sunset or what I call a pumpkin with the mocha interior. I LOVE that color combination.
I'm looking to get into a Murano in October when the lease on my Maxima is up. The winters here in Western Mass have been progressively getting worse every year so I want awd. I change my mind weekly on what color I want.
Black looks awesome as it always does but my Max is black and it was a part time job keeping it looking good so that's out. Also tends to hide the floating roof design a bit.
Silver is by far the lowest maintenance color and will look the best for the long haul. It's just that Nissan's silver tends to be very light so I'm not sure about that.
I want something that is slightly bad-ass and classy so perhaps the gun metal grey would do the trick.
The orange does look cool but maybe a bit too whimsical for a 55 rear old dude. My wife likes it though so there's that. I like to keep her happy too.
White is nice but doesn't quite do it for me on this vehicle.
Red is a possibility. Definitely makes a statement especially on this vehicle.
I like the blue but am hesitant to go with too dark of a color after all my efforts to avoid swirling on my black Max. I want something I can take through the car wash without any cares.
The Java is a nice color but I'm not big on Browns.
So, as you can see, I don't have a clue! I do like hearing what all of you folks went with and why.
Heh. I'm 57 and very conservative in dress, action and politics. And I ansolutely LOVE the orange with the beige interior. You wanna make a statement? That'll do it. Every time I pull into a parking lot, people stare at this car. I've even had a person come up to me and tell me outright what an absolutely beautiful car it is. And I've only owned it for about five weeks.
I am 57 and I like this orange color too! However, looks like this color is practically not in any dealer's inventory here, so guess I have to wait. Also, my own opinion, Black is not as safe as other bright colour especially in those places where lots of rain and fog are expected.
Picking the color is the last of my worries; picking the right vehicle is my main concern. I like white or Pearl White as it's cool to the touch, wax residues don't show as much as on a dark paint and it's classy. Silver is O.K. but been there done that and silver is everywhere; apparently, it's also the hardest paint to match. However it only comes with dark charcoal interior at least here north of the border. Dark gray, again been there done that in the '80s and I don't want it anymore even if it's very popular. I don't like dark colors, not practical for me but a lot of people do and that's why we have multiple choices, thank God.
If I was buying today, I would be torn between the striking Pacific Sunset with cashmere leather or the more formal, classic Pearl White with cashmere leather; the cashmere leather looks terrific but needs regular cleaning; the steering wheel and safety belts should be darker IMO. At least the mats are darker! My favorite pass time is not cleaning the car...Just my 2¢
Yes, the lightness of the cashmere interior has me seriously concerned, particularly since I also use it to haul my two enormous German Sheherds (95 and 115 lbs) around. I have blankets down all in the back and they're not allowed in the front. I've resigned myself to needing to get the car detailed about every 4-6 months. And we all know how expensive that is.
Speaking as a former car detailer, I would never get an off-white interior. Since Nissan doesn't use contrasting colors when selecting interiors their lighter choices make the cabin look whitewashed.
I would never own a black car either but a lot of people are big fans and would not have it any other way, that's O.K.. I would also consider a red Platinum or SL with cashmere leather but this combo is not available in Canada, only with graphite (black) leather. Otherwise I prefer dark fabric (easy to maintain) or light color leather (cooler to the touch).
As for Pacific Sunset, in the old days they were calling similar color Bright Copper Metallic; Pacific Sunset sounds much better!
Black color looks good (exterior), but it's a pain to maintain - needs cleaning more often than any other color. Silver ones are easiest - as any dirt will be noticeable less than on other colors.
As for interior - I think it depends on quality of materials, but for sure white/tan is harder to maintain.
White is the color (or non-color) of all utility vehicles and every oil and gas patch vehicle on the road. I'd never own one because of that reason and for the fact that they are blah and washed out! In my car lifetime I've owned most every color but white but I've had several company vehicles in white and don't want another.
I think at this point I've narrowed my color choices down to silver, gray, red or orange. As far as interiors go, I'm leaning towards black with the possibility of the mocha if I go with either the red or orange exterior. I'd have to sit in it to see what I think.
I would have preferred the black interior, but what turned me off to it is the plastic "brushed aluminum" trim. It was just too "cold" for me. The pearl trim is perfect, but only looks exceptional with the cashmere interior.
Halwg, in theory white is the sum of all colors and you're entitled not to like! Some say white is for appliances, not for cars I beg to differ. Some say black and dark blue is for limos and hearses, I tend to agree! All different reasons to pick a color and I'm not even considering the significant other factor...It's never been a problem for me; picking a car that would suit both was the main issue in my former life!
That's why I ended up with a Passat Wagon 1.8T 4Motion instead of an Outback 11 years ago, big mistake; always in the shop and no resale value despite being AWD because it was not a diesel, duh!
As I said before, it's very personal. I could add the same for picking a dog; I'd say 90% of dogs in my area look ugly to me but the owners find them so cute, what can I say? Did I mention I've always found the Chrysler 300 ugly? Lots of fans out there will disagree, "c'est la vie" as we say here...
White can work very well on the right car. One of my neighbors bought a Murano Platinum in white. I think it looks great. I had a wrx sti in white many years ago. It looked quite sharp and accented the car's lines in just the right way. To the point, the Ford Fusion in white mutes the lines and makes it look like a cheap rental car, yet in gray it looks like a sleek, premium vehicle.
It's not as easy as silver (IMHO easiest color to maintain), but it's on easy side. Black is the hardest to keep clean - even little dirt is visible on black.
P.S. I personally checked almost all colors on the dealers lot and there are only 2 colors that make new Murano's forms really play and shine - Pearl White and Pacific Sunset. With these 2 colors you can tell instantly it's Murano from far ahead on the street, with other colors it will look like any other no-name SUV until you get close to actually see it's Murano.
I got the black one. I like it. I think the black looks sharp, especially with the front windows tinted to match the back ones. I haven't seen any other black ones in my area, so I like that too!
I think the last 4 vehicles I've owed were all silver, so I decided to make a change. Everyone says it's hard to keep clean, and looking good. I kept hearing that, and I kept seeing black vehicles all over the place! So I figured if it was so hard, why do so many people buy black vehicles?? I mean, I guess it is, if you're OCD about it. Little imperfections do show up easier, but it's a car... it's gonna get scratched, chipped, etc. I kind of like that I can see a chip easily, because then I know it needs to be touched up! On another color I might not see it until it starts to rust.
we had to have the arctic blue but with the charcoal leather interior, which for whatever reason was pretty difficult to find. all the arctic blues we found had the tan interior, which when you have small children is a recipe for disaster. our dealer actually had to trade for one out of state. but alas we have it and we love it.
I'm trying to get my head around getting the Pacific Sunset. I've always been rather conservative in my car colors. The ps is a beautiful color and the depth of the metal flake is amazing. I really think it is one of the more impressive colors available. It's just such a stretch for me.
Well, from my experience I can say that you become accustomed to color fast and having previously owned a lot of silver cars it gets boring quickly. So in that regard your PS will be a good choice to keep mood levels high for longer time.
