Just added Black Weather Tech Floor Liner and Cargo liner to my MO,
1st personal add on to my MO. Couldn't be more pleased, especially with the
rain were getting in Florida now.
If the large Weathertech emblems bother you, heat them with a hair dryer, peel off and then use Goo-Gone to take off any adhesive residue.Your new WeatherTech mats will look OEM and not accessory.
Weather tech all the way...only drove home from the dealer with the factory ones - as soon as I arrived, I swapped em out. We have salt issues in car floors here during the winter - this saves them!
Has anyone compared the Weather Tech to the Husky floor liners? I have always got Weather Tech in the past, except the last time for a Subaru Outback where the Husky were a better fit and covered higher up on the fire wall.
I too had an Outback and the Weather Tech did not cover well under the gas peddle and up the firewall. I purchased Weather Tech for my new Murano and they cover under the peddle and up the firewall MUCH better. I Am very happy with them. Don't know about the Husky's.
I used the Weathertechs in my Honda Odyssey. Had them in my Muranos until about a year ago. The front pass side in the 2nd gen has no hooks and the mat never stayed in place. Looking for other options I stumbled across the Maxpider 3d mats. After looking at YouTube videos decided to take a chance and boy am I glad I did. They fit almost perfect and look great. They have a carbon fiber look but are soft on the feet unlike the hard plastic feel of the Techs. The tan color is much lighter than the Techs and matches my interior much better yet it somehow hides the dirt better. Doesn't look nearly as dirty as the Techs did and easier to clean. The underside has these fibers that grip the carpet and now my pass side stays perfectly in place. Don't get me wrong the Weathertechs are a good mat but I love the look and feel of these Maxpiders:29:
I have gone with black mats in nearly every car I have owned until I bought this vehicle and made the mistake of switching to the light tan color to match the carpets. After the first day I remembered why I have always chosen black - my nice new light tan mats looked dirty after just a couple of short trips. Guess I will have to do some shopping.
Thanks bembol for posting the pics. I went with the Husky because of how they went higher up the firewall on my Outback and found they go up the firewall higher on the 2015 Murano as well looking at your WT pics. It looks like the Weathertech only covers part of the left foot rest where the Husky covers it all. Glad I went with Husky again this time!
I was looking at the Husky's. I saw the round button looking spots in the front near where the factory tabs are. Is this where the mats attach to the factory tabs that protrude from the floor? If so, how well do they hold?
Blackmax, they hook on the factory protruding tab hooks just like the stock mats and the Weathertechs do. Plus, the Husky's have small molded in spikes on the back side that help hold the mats from sliding. They stay put very nicely!
I really like them. Here in Northern Illinois, snow and salt are a major issue as winter hits. These cover perfectly, and cover almost all the carpet in the foot wells.Took my stock carpets out and scotchguarded them while they wait for spring, although these fit so well and look so nice I might just leave the Huskies in during summer too. I was afraid the would be slippery or might move, but they are very gripping and are rock solid in place.
I can vouch for the Husky Liners, they are indispensable for winter weather. I am on my 3rd set of them all for different cars and they never disappoint.
The Husky Liners offer superior protection versus the WeatherTech counterparts.
Well, my kids bought me a front set of Weathertech liners for my birthday so I'll be going with those. I'm using the back all weather mats from my Maxima as they fit nicely. The WT's fit very nicely but I do wish they went all the way up on the left foot rest as I don't want melting snow to drip down behind the liner and on to the carpet. I'm thinking of rigging a small piece of rubber attached to the carpet at the top with some stick on Velcro so that it covers the entire footrest, overlapping on to the liner. Kudos to Husky for incorporating that in their design. Next time around I'll be looking at them as well as the WT but either one seems to be a good way to go.
Thanks for the link, received my (front) Husky liners last week. Overall fit is quite good, they are probably a hair wider than they should be for my particular Murano. I had to use a knife to scrape all the plastic flashing out of the carpet hook holes; they could have been finished off a bit better.
Cosmetically, they are a shinier black than the rest of the cars interior, but I think a little use will dull the finish enough for them to blend in.
