Backup Lights and More

I have a 2015 Murano SV AWD. I find the stock bulbs for the backup lights suck big time. I want to go LED but with so many varieties on the market want something really drop dead bright.

So I guess I am looking for someone who has gone down this road and had success - I would like a link to the supplier you used.

Because I live in Canada it would be great to hear from a fellow Canadian (just because of the CDN vrs US dollar). :)

Thanks Boomer.

Yeah, same link.....I have a buddy who installs sound systems in cars. He says it's a piece of cake to install. I also ordered the LED bulb for the back hatch area. That light is weak too....I'm waiting on feedback on LED fog lights as I want to replace those too. I have the Platinum and I'm surprised Nissan used standard bulbs for the fog lights. They actually look 'dirty' and weak with the LED headlights on.

Thanks for that info.

I'd like to put in LED turn indicators front and back but not sure if I need resistor load packs?
Have you changed yours?

The model I have is a SV so your headlights are already LED ready. I think I need a conversion kit of some sort?

Thanks Boomer

Reverse bulbs swap to LEDs

The reverse lights are really easy to get to a swap. I installed:

JDM ASTAR 800 lumens Extremely Bright Error Free 921 912 PX Chipsets LED Bulbs For Backup Reverse Lights, Xenon White

There are 2 small access covers on the rear hatch that allow you access to the reverse light bulbs.

Automotive exterior Auto part Automotive window part

Since I have big hands I used a small pair of pliers to reach in and twist the connector so I could remove the bulb (I think it might have been 1/4 turn).

Removed the old bulb.

Automotive lighting Auto part Eyewear

Installed the new JDM ASTAR 800.

Closed everything back up. The backup light is a lot brighter now (sorry I forgot to get a before photo).

LED bulb source

Check out "SuperbrightLEDS dot com". They have an excellent set-up for identifying which bulb types are used in each lamp location.

Well they've only been installed for an hour and it's still (sort of) daytime.

I will say, however, that even during the day they're bright. I had my wife put the car in reverse while I checked them out and damn... nearly blinded me looking right at them.

There will be absolutely NO doubt to passersby that when you put the car in reverse, you intend to back up. :21:
