I got myself a 2017 Murano SV with the premium package. Well the website said NissanConnect with Navigation. Come to know, the only phone app it supports is google app. The S trim level supports the phone apps like facebook, pandora etc but not the higher trim with navigation. One would think, and stupid me that i assumed that the nissanconnect with nav will have the features from S and the nav on top of it..Awesome Japanese R&D
look at the bright side.. murano's are a solid car.. you are not alone on this boat.. I thought only 15's are affected by this so called nissanconnect bug.. I thought that after the first year, all of murano's have the added apps (pandora, facebook, etc)..
Anyways.. congratz on the murano.. and welcome to our boat !
I am assuming that these cars that come with apple car play that you have to have a IPHONE. And if you have a android phone then your SOL again with Nissan connect,
Ah, more new Nissan customers feeling duped. Join the club buddy. Good car, but horrific infotainment and a shamelessly lying manufacturer. Feels good, doesn't it?
I can get Google search and Trip Advisor to work. I havent bothered with facebook or iHeart. I tried Pandora but I cant get it to show up at all. I guess it isnt available on units with navigation for some stupid reason. And this is on a fully loaded Platinum.
But I digress, I didnt buy the car for the infotainment, but it would have been a nice bonus if everything worked as expected.
Does anyone know anything about after market android auto radios? Could they be installed instead of the crap system that Nissan gave us? Would stearing wheel and camera functions work? I saw some radios that said steering can work with an adapter, just don't want to lose the cameras also.
there's this guy on the FB group/forum im on, he seems to get stuff, radio, etc.. that can possibly help us. He already got something for 13-present altimas and 4-present rogues.. he can possibly get something going for our cars..
WHOA - who needs to hack their cards infotainment system, like what AGD Customs offers... another cool "feature" would be as you slow down, your front camera comes on automatically - I'd like that for parking so that I don't hit the low cement barrier or sidewalk or when I have to get into my garage (double-tandem) and nudge my wifes car.
I have a 2017 Murano SV as well. I have the Google Search, Facebook and TripAdvisor Apps working, but not Twitter. The Facebook app is somewhat useful to display upcoming Events, Trip Advisor can help with restaurants, hotels etc. but overall I find all of them kinda slow relatively to using my phone directly and I just really wish it integrated Android Auto in the head unit, as I have it for my phone and it is everything you could ask for.
Four main things I love about Android Auto: Voice recognition, Google Maps, Google Play Music with cover art and playlists, and Phone--all with Big usable buttons with recent calls, messages, etc.
If there was an easy way to update my head unit to support Android Auto I would be all over it, but wouldn't that be too easy!
I notice there was some traffic from this page and notice the links here. I'm looking to expand to other models from the Altima itself to a broad range. I will look into the new 2015+ Murano version. While I can get a lot more features here, I can't guarentee that every single OEM feature will be available since the systems is completely different. I would need to see if this is a high demand product worth while to create as well so spread the word here!
@kaibab, Thanks! I will be looking into this here but you might see something within 2 weeks time or so. I need to study the service manual and harness
I just purchased a 2015 Murano SV with Nav and Tech package yesterday and pretty upset with the lack of caring by Nissan on these known issues. And I work in the software industry so even bothers me more. Would be interested in alternatives to the factory installed unit since it does not seems Nissan will ever fix the issue through a software fix or hardware replacement.
Thanks! I am trying different channels directly into Nissan's IT dept to see if they ever plan on resolving this but not going to hold my breath. Obviously this was a major screw up on their part and if they didn't fix it though a software upgrade/fix, then it must be an incompatibility with the hardware itself. Since a convenience feature (unless someone can convince Nissan people will be looking at their phones rather than the obnboard display to screw with Pandora, Iheartradio, etc. and will cause crashes) it will just be a nuisance.
