I had to email them again with some kind of form filled out.
Then they sent it right out.
However, like I said it doesn't work any better. In fact this one is nearly completely unusable. I can't change playback mode at all. It stays in "all songs" the whole time. cant even get to direct mode.
I'll be sending it back for a refund.
