Hello I just purchased an 11 and my old one started the same thing. I had a 05 with 105000 on it. The last year or so it did start getting louder. Nothing happened just louder. I did not do anything about it. I was thinking same issues. It may be a wheel bearing in the front. They should put it on a lift and listen to the front wheels. What did the dealer say when the same noise is still there.

We all are Nissan owners and All have the same exact problem in CVT.

My Murano is 2005 / 91000KM and it look like new car...

The extended warranty in the US is offered and supported by NissanUSA, not Nissan Corporate.

My guess is that NissanUSA realized it had a public relations problem with the CVT's cost of repair and needed to offer the warranty to ensure they did not scare aware potential customers in Nissan's largest market.

The Nissan branch of the company in your region, Arabian Automobiles Company, apparently does not believe the extended warranty is required.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I took in my 03 Murano (under 125k mileage) last year to the Nissan Dealer because the tranny would not kick in and I would rev then it would slam into gear and start going.

It happened mostly in stop and go traffic. It seemed to be aggravated when you push on the brake and slow down and then before stopping start pressing on the gas or if you stop, idle less than 1 second and start again.

I took it in and they swapped the CVT with no questions asked. Of course they told me I had a broken motor mount and refused to cover it when I complained the transmission problems caused it, but I suppose you cannot win them all.

End of the story - What looks to me to be a new transmission.

And my new warranty covered CVT is on the way to my local dealership. I had the hesitation issue being caused by the CVT's valve body. Hopefully they'll begin the rework Monday of next week.

How can you purchase this extended warranty? I bought my murano from an individual about a month ago and it has this problem (probably why they sold it to me) anyways i dont have $7k-$10k to fix if that is what it would take.
I just had all the recall work done on it at nissan dealership.

I bought a 2009 Murano SL with 50,000 miles a couple of weeks ago and came across this site and then saw this thread. Interestingly, the Nissan dealer where I bought the Murano didn't say anything about the extended CVT warranty, only that 10,000 miles remain on the powertrain warranty.

But my understanding is that our Murano's CVT has about seven years or 70,000 miles warranty left on it, right?
