Why is it when you try to leave someone positive feedback on their User CP site you get an error message saying "iTrader closed"?? What is an iTrader anyway? There's no way to get around that error message. If you're not going to have the funcionality for allowing feedback, then you should take off the link that says "Leave feedback for this person" or something like that.
I would think you'd like to encourage folks to say things to each other...UNLESS in the past this has led to some unsavory and mean spirited comments....but even then, you could put the comments on que until a moderator had a chance to view them to ensure they are not vulgar or violate the guidelines set down by the forum Administrators. I've been to a number of different User CP sites to look at the person's page, and I've never seen anyone leave any feedback for anyone else. Is it because it's not done, or because you have it blocked?

DO ANY OF THE MODERATORS OR ADMIN READ THESE SUGGESTONS? I guess my expectation is that I would get some sort of feeback that confirmed that someone read it, liked it or thought it was not a doable idea....but at least let the folks who take the time and effort to provide suggestions know that it was received and under consideration....and didn't just fall into a black who-gves-a=$hit hole.

No. It did not fall into the who-gves-a=$hit hole. I looked for iTrader the first time you posted but wasn't sure what you were talking about so I left it for someone else to respond to. This time I was a bit more diligent and actually found it. You are right, it does not look like it is working. I don't think any of the Moderators can fix it though. It would be an Admin thing to do. I will send a pm to the Admin.

ZEB: My primary objective was to get a response....looks like it worked. In truth, I didn't mean to demean you or any moderator or Admin...but I deliberately used language I figured would get some sort of reaction. Actually, you guys do a pretty good job of moderating, it's just that there are times when it seems like the suggestions go unanswered or fall off the table. Thanks for checking into it.
It would be nice to be able to give someone recognition with a pat on the back for something they did...a suggestion they offered....or help they've given...like turbizzy. He probably provides more knowledgeable input than anyone because he's actually a mechanic...in there with his sleeves rolled up and doing it...not just talking about it. I tried to give him a positive pat...and it backfired...then I tried another...it backfired....so hopefully now some folks can "rate" the input and value a member might contribute to the Murano forum community. They might also be able to provide a little "guidance" to someone who's being a PIA. People are quick to bit*h about something, but slow to commend....having the ability to commend someone is a valuable forum function. I wonder how many folks even know that this function exists?

LOL...that kind of language would likely get you "ignored" not noticed....
![]() Just kidding. I am guessing iTrader is geared more towards members who buy and sell. But I have asked the question and let's see if Admin would make it functional for us to use. By the way, sometimes we miss some posts (we have lives you know!) so best way to get a point across is to also pm one of us. That usually gets attention faster.

Zeb: Actually, I'd market it to Admin as a tool to be used by forum participants to sort of....I guess you could say it would sort of be a barometer for how well a member might be viewed by his/her peers....if someone is helpful....+ points or comments, if they're obnoxious or BS oriented, they might get a -....or some sort of measure that would give the membership an idea of how this person stacks up against other forum members. Sort of a "Consumer's Report" of a person's credibility and value to the forum as a whole. eBay uses something similar based upon the person's ratings over time.
Just a thought, but I've seen that employed in other forums I've particpated in. I'd probably get a - for being long winded.... ![]() But also think of it as a means of giving people feedback on how they might be viewed by others without being mean spirited or violate the guidelines Admin has laid out....peer pressure has a way of straightening out deviant or unacceptable behavior...in this case, how the person appears through his or her written contributions to the forum. Some folks may not realize how they're coming across, and the ultimate objective would be to improve the environment or reputation of the forum by means of the way the participants "see" themselves thru the eyes of their peers. This is not to be construed as any sort of inhibiting or intrusive way of limiting free speech or thought....just a simplified measure of credibility and demeanor.

If that's the case, then what is the reason for the feedback section in the individual User CP section? If you go to try to use it, you get the iTrader Closed message....why would you put an inoperative feedback section into the User CP...either make it functional, or take it out. Out of curiosity, when has that iTrader feature been used even if, as you say, the Admin folks say it's only for sales? And where would you access it to use it?
If it's "closed", is it also closed for sales comments?

Slow down...
You made a suggestion, I asked admin, he went to people who own this forum, got an answer, I relayed it to you. This software was not created just for this forum. It has many features not all used by forums like ours which is mostly people talking to each other. I am assuming if the classified section gets too big it would be turned on but that is for another time and another place.
