Welcome to the forum.
The dash-mounted power socket is limited to 15 amps. The power socket in the center console and the one in the rear share a single 15 amp circuit, so the total load between the two cannot exceed 15 amps. This is all according to the 2005 Service Manual. Although unlikely, your '06 may be wired differently. -njjoe

Roasted: There's a big difference between Watts and Amps....you need to look on yourappliance and it should list how many Amps the device draws. I would think that 15 Amps would be sufficient to power a small device....but any heating element like an iron, hair dryer or anything that uses a heated wire coil does draw quite a bit of power. For example... Most of the circuits in your bathroom that are used to power your hair dryers etc are on 15 Amp GFI circuits.
You have to be careful about which devices you use in your car since the size of hte wiring has to be able to accomodate the level of power being used by the accessory. Here's a reference to a car coffee pot I found by doing a Google search on "12 volt car coffee pots" You can search further for other brands too. A small unit just used to heat a couple cups of hot water for a cup of tea would use less power: 2 Volt Coffee Makers: Power Hunt, Cuisinart, RoadPro 12 Volt Coffee Pots
12 Volt Personal 16 Oz Coffee Maker Quick Brews Hot Coffee in about 15 Minutes $29.99 ![]() Not fast enough? See the Power Hunt High Performance 3-minute Coffee Maker below. RoadPro's "Quick Cup" is a Portable 12-Volt Coffee Pot for personal use. Brewing 16 oz of Hot Fresh Coffee in about 15 minutes, the RPSC784 "Quick Brew" 12-Volt Coffee Pot comes with features like a "Drip Stop" that allows you to stop the Brewing Cycle and take a few sips of hot coffee without waiting for the brew to complete. If you need this type of appliance commonly, why not have a power inverter installed that can provide more power AND have regular house outlets for you. 500w inverters would do the same appliances you're looking at I think.
