Default Stars under user names?

What do the stars under the user names indicate? I thought it might be related to the number of posts, but I don't have a star and have more posts than someone else who does have a star.

It's no big deal, I'm just curious. There's probably an explanation somewhere and I've just been too blind to see it.

Kris,

So did I, but if that's the case, you ought to have several and you don't have any!

I'm willing to bet you filled in the New Title box in your user profile. You have a different tile than what the board gives. The only way you'll get the stars based on posts is when you let the board assign you a title as you make more and more posts.

On this forum it's driven by posts. On another one I know, it's driven by people giving you ratings, but it doesn't really matter, because those that get a lot of stars usually get knocked down by those that are jealous of all the stars they got, so the system doesn't work well..

Kris and I lost ours when we became mods.

Ding Ding. We have a winner. On this board it is based on the number of posts. But I like giving myself a custom title. Neat option that isnt normally enabled on other boards.
