I just bought my 2006 MO a week ago, however I owned a 2005 Titan for almost 3 years. I had taken it into my closest dealer (Wesley Chapel Nissan) a few times for service and to get some wheel studs that were stripped, replaced. Service seemed halfway decent, so I went there first when shopping for a replacement to the Titan and I really liked the MO's.
So I go there on a Friday night, find a merlot pearl 2006 SL loaded except nav, 42k miles and they are asking 22k. We end negotiation for the night at 19,980 out the door before tax, tag and title. Its certified used and the front tires are worn down below 3/32" of an inch, per the certified warranty they are to be replaced if below 50% wear. Also there are a few scratches on the front and passenger side that I said would have to be buffed out as well to make the deal. But at the end of the night, we walked because we felt they were still asking a little too much. We come back Saturday afternoon, to look at it during the day. My wife and I both like the color and this seemed like a nice looking vehicle. We go back in with the sales guy (young guy by the name of Josh Rosario I believe) and now the price is $19,980 to replace the front tires and buff the paint but BEFORE the $699 dealer fee. I was like no way...this isn't what was discussed last night. He goes back to his manager and then comes back, says they are basically going to take the tires off of the other 06 MO next to it, and that they can do the 19,980. I was like no way. So back to the manager he goes and he says, if I want to replace the tires on my own, but they would still buff the paint they will do it for $19,200 before dealer fee. So basically they were planning on selling me two used tires for $480 bucks. It seemed like every time he went back to the manager the deal got crappier and crappier. Finally I was just sick of the BS, and we left. It was the worst dealer experience I have ever had and am glad I ended up finding my MO somewhere else. |

What is a $699 "dealer fee"? Why is it listed as a seperate line item?

My ex lives in Wesley Chapel, I hate that place haha.
The best revenge is seeing that same car on their lot day in, day out. I had one dealer who wouldnt budge on an Audi A6 2 years ago, pretty sure it still there the last time I drove by. You'd think after having it for 3 years on their books they might try to negotiate!
