Default Power Nissan is giving me the run around about my warranty, please help.

My wife and I bought it used 2004 Murano in 2006 from the Power Nissan Tempe store, when we bought it we were told it had a Nissan Certified Pre-Owned warranty. (I remember this specifically because there was a white one we would have rather had, but we were sold on this gold one because of the warranty it came with) I recently brought the car in for a recall, and when I did was informed of some of work that needed to be done. Thinking I had the warranty I inquired more about having the work done. I was informed by our service manager, the data in the computer system was never entered correctly and unfortunately there was nothing he could do. He advised us we could try and contact Power Tempe and see if they could give me any information, which I did and got nowhere. I cannot find my paperwork anywhere either. Can someone please advise my as to how to go about finding the correct information so I can have the work done I need?

Aren't used cars bought and sold "as is" unless specifically stated if there is any warranty coverage. The coverage has to be given to the buyer stating what is actually being covered. What is the problem with your MO anyways.

Sounds like you may have gotten ripped off. IIRC, I think Powers in Tempe might have some bad rep across the boards for stuff like this. I would start digging out all my original sales records in addition to asking Powers to pull up theirs on their computer. They may not have the paper trail, but the sale record should be in their database and it should be printable. Good Luck!!!

fyxtion-

This sounds very familiar. Wasn't there another thread a few months back about a used car dealer who "forgot" to record the car with their warranty carrier?

If you find your supplemental warranty paperwork and it is signed by a rep for the dealership you may be able to win your case if you take legal action. Unfortunately, without the paperwork it is just your word against his.

Sounds like your dealer either lied to you originally about the warranty or are hoping for the exact situation you are in now - they claim ignorance and hope the customer lost the paperwork.
