Default Power Nissan (Hawthorne CA)

Didn;t buy my car there because salesman and his manager wasted HOURS of my time with bait and switch deals so I walked.

Took my car for 1st service call here though...

Called to make reservation. Asked the girl how much for first check and oil change. Was told 19$. (too low) so I said are you sure and she said no. So ofcourse I told her to go find out. She came back and told me about 200 dollars!!!! I told her I have letter from their dealership stating its 44$..... she said ok....what a bad start

I called ahead and made reservation, got there on time, my rep wasn't there.
Some other rep (Jay) half heartedly started processing my paperwork after I waited in a emyty cubicle that he told me was the office of my real service manager....it was just a storage room.

Waited but no one called me so I went to talk to Jay the service manager who shrugged and said "i dunno I;m not your service manager go talk to brett"....this really ticked me off....went to talk to brett who had showed up late. Turns out car has been done and just sitting around.

Before I handed over the keys I specifically mentioned that I am sensitive about the condition of my car and I will get upset if I find foot prints or finger smudges on my new white interior.

Long story short there are nasty pily finger and hand marks on the door, steering, roof liner, sunvisor. Big oil mark on the carpet.

Went to pay but the register girl couldnt find paperwork.
Waited ten minutes and she rang me up for almost $100. I told her that the agreement I signed states $44.00 exactly. So she had to go find manager, service manger etc and I waited another 18 minutes before I could pay and leave...

Ordered touch up paint too. Paid for it. Was told they will call me next day. Never called me to tell me they got it...still waiting.

Too bad because this is the closest to my house and it supposedly won awards for great service (whatever.....crappy waiting room...crappy everything)

I wouldn't go there if I were you...

Default Update 1

OK, so in addition to the oil drip on the carpet, finger marks on the roofliner, I discover 4 small dings on the aluminum trim on the armrest....that set me off.

So I called, calmy explained, set appt with the svc manager.

So I showed up on time for my appointment with Brett the service manager.

Surprise, he's not there.

I'm casually told to 'get someone else to help you'

I do. The guy grudgingly checks out my car and says "I don't know, you could have done this yourself, I am not your service manager, come back tomorrow and see if Brett is here"

At this stage I NEARLY lost it....I had taken time out of my work, driven 10 miles one way JUST for this....anyways, I did not raise my voice but became serious and assertive....

Told him to call the manager right away. Manager WOULD NOT COME OUT. Instead he requested that I turn over my car to the service manager and let him drive it TO HIM.

I agreed.

15 minutes I waited in front of the waiting room.
This old lady and I spoke LOUD and AT LENGTH about the horrible experience we have both had buying brand new 2006 Nissans (she got Altima), how lame that both our cars have been recalled, and how crappy the service was....I hope eveyone else in the waiting room got the message

Another 15 minutes later finally the guy comes back and agreed to order the part and clean the car.

So, that was a good turn of events.
We'll see if they mess up the install.....I don't want to be the glass half empty kind...but it's hard not to...

I wil post another update as events unfold....

PS I didn't even bother with the brake pad business....too tiring dealing with this sh1t

Default UPDATE

Finally got the car fixed today....

-they replaced the center console they damaged
-they didnt clean the headliner

Brought it in for the squeaky brakes again:

-could not duplicate, service manager dissappeared after agreeing to ride along with me
-report shows that FRONT AND REAR PADS 75% REMAINING!!****

***Recall they told me the front brakes were almost worn out (pad under 50% left they told me...) SO I ASKED: "did the brake pads grow back?"....to which I got a PO'd shrug.

Friggin joke this place...

Complain to the Nissan corporate offices. Not that it will do anything, but filing complaints about a dealership could help in the future if they get enough people calling.

You can also report them to the BBB in your area, usually a helpful solution when the business you're dealing with doesn't want to solve the problem.

I also been going to this dealer (sigh) for about a year now. The service "advisers" are worse than used car salesmen. They strive to provide you with the worst service possible.

On my recent visit, for my 30k service, it took me 20 minutes of walking around and looking unhappy to get anybody's attention. Finally sat down with an adviser. He tried to sell me the "signature" service which cost $250 more than the regular service and basically added nothing. I called him on it, and he grudgingly wrote me up for the "regular" service. One of the things on the "signature" service was changing the air filter. He was like you should probably get this changed, it's recommended for this mileage, we can add it on for $99. I declined, as I know I can change a stupid air filter myself. When I got my car back, the adviser echoed the recommendation of the "service tech" that the air filter be changed. Whatever. It's a good thing I didn't pay for it, because when I got the car home and popped the hood to change the air filter, I saw that they had already changed it! So either the adviser lied or the tech who did my car was really nice to me.

On a positive note, the guy at the parts department was really nice. While I was waiting for my car, I moseyed on over to inquire about roof rack crossbars. The guy was very helpful explaining how they're installed and whatnot. I decided to buy them, but the guy was like "hmm the computer keeps trying to mark this up, give me a second..." then he told me $150. I knew that was right around the best price online so I said I'd take it. He said they had one in stock then he went to get it. When he came back he offered to check the contents of the box to make sure everything was in there. The box had a small dent in it, and while I was sure there wasn't anything wrong, I said sure why not. So he cut the seal and opened it up, and lo and behold, the damn things were broken! So he voided the transaction and ordered me a new set. It arrived next day, and he broke the seal on that one too (in front of me) to check it. This one was good, so I was on my merry way. This guy seemed to be the only person in the whole place who was concerned with making me a satisfied customer.

I'd give the service advisers an F, service techs a C (they do a decent job, but I haven't really had anything done to test their skill) and parts guy an A.

FWIW I've stopped going here and have been having much better results at Gardena Nissan. Smaller but much better service. Not perfect but overall night and day compared to Power.

Thanks for the recommendation. I will check them out for my next service appointment.
