Is everybody comfortable with Canton Mississippi? - Nissan Murano

My 05 Murano has been the best all around DD I have ever owned. None of the the other CUV's appeal to me. So now, as the MO is getting long in the tooth I have patiently been waiting upon news of the next generation. First it was to be the 2013, now it is the 14. It seems it may now come out in 14 as a 15 model placing the MO on a six year model life. There was no 08 and there may be no 14.

The latest news is that production will be in Canton,Miss. I am all for manufacturing in the USA as I am in the manufacturing field.Does anybody share concerns about a new model startup with new technologies in a location that has had quality issues in the past?

New model start up has to be a bit of a concern. There is going to be a learning curve and tweaking to the machinery that will have to take place. If this does, in fact, happen, I would wait at least 2 model years before buying one. But I always do that with a new model, anyway.

it also depends on the quality of the workers that they hire. and from what it looks like they re hiring from the street with no background at all. right?
