The 2011 Edge has some significant upgrades over the 2010 version - more powerful and fuel efficient engines, upgraded interior, retuned suspension, and Ford's new fully digital LCD guages and even LCD HVAC/Audio controls. Its all quite high tech and despite MS's involvement, I hear that Sync works pretty well. Despite "305hp" sounding impressive, the Edge also weighs quite a bit more than other CUV's its size. So the performance is somewhat blunted by the added weight. Besides, no one purchases a crossover for blistering acceleration.
To be honest, I am still pretty happy with my old MO. It still drives well, has no major problems, feels peppy enough, and fits me like a glove. I can only imagine how good the newer CUVs must be.

Just picked up my 09 LE Silver the other day. Need AWD up here in the Winter, especially the one we're having this year.
Have friends with the Edge, and the new one looks even better. Ford has improved, but I've never been a fan. The Murano is better looking, and better qualify in and out in my opinion. I've always driven / bought GM but made a move to Nissan and very happy so far.

![]() i thought it was nice once you got use to the menus. kinda hard to learn while driving! OH and the 4 was button kept getting activated while messing with the radio, that was kind annoying. but the bluetooth sync to the ipod was AWESOME, and the USB ports in the glove box were nice to recharge the ipod a friend of mine and i picked up this 2011 edge limited as a rental for a quick trip to Joplin, MO. had to go and pick up his cousin who was fired from his job just days after the tornado ripped apart the town. we live in Michigan so it was about a 1800 mile round trip for me and my friend. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() this edge was LOADED! had the 9-10 speaker surround sound, leather, AWD, i think all it was missing was a sun roof. all in all it was a great driving cross over but after 1800 miles in less then 48 hours the seats got a bit uncomfortable, and that was really my only major complaint. after we got down to Joplin we both kind of wished we took me Murano for the extra room in the back and the seats. my friend is 400 lbs so he was pretty cramped. and his cousin that we picked up is a truck driver so he had alot of stuff to haul back. so the extra room would have came in handy. |

Unless something has changed on the 2011 model year though the ride on the Edge is too harsh. It feels like you are bottoming out the suspension in normal driving. The Murano's ride is firm but a whole lot more comfortable than the Edge. I have to give it to Ford on the styling though, that's one handsome looking vehicle. I see a lot of people driving around in Edges in fashion conscious Los Angeles.

I recently helped my in-laws purchase an Edge and I have to say - for not being a Ford person - I was very impressed.
They purchased the Limited and the interior is stunning (not sure what others are seeing). It is black leather with red stitching and all the ambient lighting one can handle. The my Sync, Vista sunroof, and 20" wheels are impressive as well. This is coming from a life-long (former) GM guy. -biggun

I'm sure it's a very nice car, but it looks like a electric razor, or a triple blade shaver when you see it head on. Meh!?
The 1st blade grabs the whisker. The second blade stands up the whisker. The third blade cuts off the whisker. LOL! Ford Edge? Coincidence? I think not! Edge as in shaver. Should have just called it the Gillette Mach 3. |
