Default What did your Murano replace?

I saw this on the FA dark side & thought it would be interesting here.....

Mine was just car number 5 in my stable.

I need to free up my Accord for my 16 Year Old.

My Cutlass is off limits! I got too crazy building it up when I was a young pup & I know what I did with a 350/350!

And I would never punish my boys by making them drive the Caravan.

1999 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS (only about 2000 made for the US that year) 5-spd in Black Peal...

...Just sold it yesterday (snif) -- it was a sweet ride but getting on it years (almost 50k miles and running out of the extended warranty -- not that it needed it..). Would have kept it but just got married and the wife hated the aggressive way I shifted and took corners. Plus she couldn't drive a stick and so we were always trading off driving her car and she's a foot shorter than me -- very hard on the knees if she had driven last (no memory seats). Finally we could never agree on the temperature. The MO has since fixed all that (she likes having her own climate controls and the fact that it doesn't shift at all -- no jerkiness to jar her delicate vestibular system).

The wife's '94 Saturn SC2 - I don't miss that car at all. Burned a quart of oil every 100 miles - yes 100 not 1000. Smoked if you'd 'drive' it. Emissions was about due - so why risk not passing

It had 130K miles on the original motor, the clutch slipped - never had any major problems until the final 5K before we sold it.

We looked at the VUE while shopping and I couldn't get myself to buy another Saturn. Plus, it was uncomfortable as hell to sit in - the edge of the seat was at the middle of my leg when sitting down.

2000 VW Golf GL 2 Door. Had about 70,000 miles on it and the power steering rack had to be replaced. Didn't want to wait for something else to go wrong and I needed something bigger and with AWD to haul around 3 boys and their gear camping (and after the horrible winter this yeare). After I test drove a Murano I was hooked.

I can fit all three boys, two still using car seats, in the back of the Murano and they are all comfortable. The Murano handles at least as good as Golf did, is much faster and much nicer too.

98 Ford Taurus SHO. It was having all kinds of issues with everything and did not want to be nickeled and dimed to death. Sold it on Ebay for double what I would have gotten if I traded it in. I was lucky!!

97 Chrysler Town and Country LXI. Good car. Very reliable.

Homer

BTW, I gave my 92 SHO to my daughter.
She still has it in Texas.
It will still outrun most 4 door sedans at any price.

I have several times bought great cars with many years but not so many miles, like your PF. In two years, I put more miles on them than the original owner did.

Eggs are 20 miles from here, and some of my customers are 50-100 miles away. Oh, well. Unless I buy a few more cars, I'll never be posting a 10-year-old car in the stable with a few thousand miles on it!

MO might be it. The PF sold this week. Paper work is being done (across two provinces and about 75 miles, but it's painless; dealer is doing the running around). Tuesday, PF goes in for inspection, etc., and MO's space will glare at me.

Actually, between the Olds and the construction material for the new garage, it won't stay empty for long.

Maybe I'll keep MO for Sunday driving, and put 100k on the Olds. But you all know that won't happen. Own a Murano and not drive it?
