The MO is supported by Nissan, and the FX is supported by Infiniti. Enough said.

Common Joe, it was obvious!

MUIRANO,

do a search and you will find a lot of discussion regarding this issue.

Myself - I do not know which one I would choose. I think it comes to personal preferences...if you want fun - go with FX. Family and "practical" guy - go with the Murano.

If you don't know what the differences are why do you want to switch ?

MUIRANO-

Here's how I see it. If you are married with kids then the MO is the better choice. If you are single or married without kids then the FX is for you.

Hey, wait a minute. If that is true then why am I driving this Murano? Hmm, good question.

I had an Infiniti G35 coupe for a little over a year...

I won't go back to Infiniti.

The pretentiousness of the dealer was pretty bad. They kept trying to rip me off on maintenance by loading on all sorts of items that were not needed.

They also tried to bill me for rotating the tires when its impossible on that car (differing sizes front to rear)

Put it this way, the maintenance cost for 15K service as suggested by them was more than 5 years of maintenance on my Miata

Plus the fit and finish isn't up to standards either.

Finally, the FX interior really isn't much different from a Murano... same quality of work and material

Oh, the FX gets crappy mileage compared to the Murano

Only high side, better exhaust growl

sharlin- it seems like you have more of a dealership issue than problems with the G that you owned.

MUIRANO- personally, we're kind of in the same boat. we are gonna wait for the new murano to come out and if that one dosn't float the boat, then it'll either be an fx(which will also be redesigned shortly after the murano) or an MDX(they should have all the first year bugs worked out by then) if you want to go for a new one right now, and the mo and fx are your only two choices, you have to look at what your family is like. if you have a wife and small children, than the fx will be fun and fine(but it's kind of tough to buckle the kids in in tight parking spaces) if you have older children, than the back seat is tough to get in and out of and there isn't as much cargo room as the murano. but the fx clearly wins in the performance and fit and finish categories. the less room is an easy trade off for that.

in the case of the murano all you gotta do is think about why you purchased it in the first place...

No, the car had a lot to do with my decision. Noisy wiper blade, noisy wiper arms complete with thunk through brake pedal when in motion. Tinny roof in the rain, horrible noise from stock tires, bad fit and finish inside (friends Camry had better fit). The steering wheel mounted controls were not centered (this was the same on all the ones I looked at) and thus exposed a very sharp edge at the bottom of them. Quite a few squeaks and rattles that the dealer could not find.

I wrote a real letter to Infiniti, got a call back, and that was it. They offered nothing. I asked what I could do to get these problems fixed and all they told me I could do is take it back to the dealer.

Infinitis are just overpriced nissans, unlike Toyota which is a down contented Lexus.
