The Highlander is the only one of the other 3 that I would even put in the same class as the MO, and even it is a lower level of trim & accessories etc...
IHowever, I would own a Highlander Hybrid Limited (big RX400H) in a minute!

I'd take a RX400h no doubt. The Highlander is far too snug. They're like apples and oranges, the Lexus and Toyota. Both do have super powertrains though.

Interesting how the MO can still 'win' this type of comparison test nearing the end of it's lifecycle. It's well into it's 5th model year, and it's still being copied, mimicked, and flattered by so many of the pretenders and contenders.

I forgot to give the rankings:

1) Murano - price, performance & design
2) Sante Fe - copying, improving & coming up fast
3) Highlander - great build & value but boring
4) Edge - good idea by Ford but didn't aim high enough

Highlander is a lot bigger inside than the 400H. Twice the luggage space!

The Motor Trend review said the Murano Bose audio was the best in the group and also there will be a 2008 replacement later in the year.

Is this review on-line? Or in the magazine? I couldn't see anything on Motortrend's website.

This review is in the March 2007 issue. I just received my copy today in the mail. I don't think it is online yet.

Just received the issue yesterday and read it this morning. Woohoo! Murano victory!

As expected, the Edge took last due to its poor packaging and dangerous brakes.

i just read the review today and i couldn't believe that the editors loved the bulky heavy styling of the edge. just to mention, the murano just barely won, they didn't even mention the name at the end of the article. it was a process of elimination as to who the winner was. and also they mentioned it being overpriced(common motortrend, you got a fully speced out MO while the others were pretty much basic)but darn the shots that they took of the loaded SE with the new chrome wheels looked great. and stayin put with the mo until the redesign comes out. then it's either we'll be getting another Murano or we'll be moving upscale(infiniti FX, acura MDX/RDX)

Website link is here.

Good showing by the Mo. I would think they should have had the CX7 in as well. It fits that grouping.
