Well i live in Canada so I have DRL which are the fogs so the only downside I had to turn my lights on then off the activate the drl's...
The kit is from DDM Tuning. They offer a cheap kit that has a great warranty. As far as install is concerned theres a few posts on how to get the fogs out. If your doing it correctly it shouldn't take long at all! Id say max 15 mins for each side. If you have any other questions i would be glad to help Here's a link to a pic posted by member Kris on how to remove the fog light. http://www.nissanmurano.org/forums/a...nt-diy-p02.jpg |

+1 on DDM Tuning.
I bought my HID low-beam (55 Watt) and fog light (35 Watt) kits for my Altima from them. Work great, and they have a lifetime warranty. Kits are inexpensive too. I believe the 55 Watt, solid state slim-line ballasts are $45 for the pair + shipping (and tax if you're in California.)

Thanks for the clarification Fresh. Now I'm impatient for my fogs to go out so I can have an excuse to swap to HID. I'm sure it won't be complicated and I'll be sure to ask questions when the time comes. In the meantime, light up that road! heheh

Very nice, I just got a 2010 and that will be my 1st upgrade! but do you mind me asking what did you buy from DDM, i see it is asking for the "Dual-in Dual-out Cable" and the "type 3 Adaptor", did you need any for the Murano? Thank you for your time.

Fog lights add to the appearance of the Mo, those look nice, good choice of color for fog too!
I've recently installed fog lights on my '06 S, AWD. I upgraded the S turn signal switch with the SL switch that included the fog light switch, I purchased an aftermarket fog light kit made for the 06 model w/oval lights using 9006 bulbs, then upgraded that system to 35W 9006, 5000K HID/Xenon using a kit made by Xentech that I ordered out of California. The kit included a round ballast, the mount, wiring & bulbs, etc. I bought them online w/2 year warranty & unfortunately had a bad ballast within a few weeks. The seller sent out the new part immediately, no issues, & my lights have now travelled a few thousand miles with no incidents, look great & are excellent. (I chose 5000K for driving lights, otherwise the yellow HID lights would be better for use in the fog.) These are an easy install, I took my time on a great afternoon and spent a few hours removing the parts (splash shields & such) to gain clearance to install them, including taking the time for soldering in the HID lead to the OEM harness that was waiting to be connected, under the fenderwell and making sure that everything was secured properly. The only tools I needed were a flat tip screwdriver, phillips screwdriver, 1/4" ratchet w/extension & 10MM socket for the bolt holding in the fog light assy., and my soldering equipment. There is plenty of room and perfect mounting areas on both sides for the HID kit. It's getting to the passenger side to install the assembly and the 10MM bolt that was tough, as I only removed the minimum of pieces, to do the job. Installing the switch was just a matter of removing the covers on the steering wheel, pressing 2 clips & removing the old one. The part is Plug N Play, so the new switch just plugged in & I reassembled the covers. All of the fuses & relays and wiring are built in for this so once the switch is installed, the wiring to the fog lights is active with the switch on & low beams activated. I did order the trim bezel from a dealership for the completed factory look & they even painted them to match, but after seeing them, I could as easily have shaped the OEM fog light plugs to look the same, painted them and saved over 100.00 with no appreciable difference. The new SL switch added Automatic headlamps too, but without the control sensor (which also can be added) they are on day and night once you turn the ignition on, but I like them running anyway! I have mine set to turn off 30 seconds after I leave the MO. 2006 Murano S HID 6000K headlights 9007-2 Front Drilled Brake Rotors w/Ceramic pads Drilled AWD rotors, freshly painted Hi-Temp Black calipers (4) HID 5000K fog lights w/SL switch Gentex Anti-Dazzle rearview mirror w/compass K&N air filter Always Synthetic motor oil & lubricants! Towing package: Curt hitch w/ 2" Nissan Ball, Nissan fuse protected OEM wiring harness. AERO Wiper Blades New front hub bearings, L & R replaced in 2009, Timken bearing assemblies used (you don't have to remove the axles or ball joints to install your hub bearing assembly, they bolt in and can be removed easily! My total cost for replacing both was about 224.00, I do my own labor.) Rear camera & controller installed, finalizing the install hopefully within the next week or two using all OEM equipment. |

Does the 55Watt recommendation still apply to a Murano(2010)? in the murano owners manual it says the low beam is a 55 watt, which would lead me to believe i would purchase the 55 watt for low's and the 35 watt for Fog. Thanks.

Good question. As far as I know 55 Watt is risky... not just from the murano but for a lot of cars. Do you have Stock HID's?
If you have factory HID's you would want a 35 Watt bulb. If your buying an aftermarket HID kit you would also want 35 Watts |
