Default Reese 44600 Hitch Receiver Installed

Reese 44600 hitch receiver installed. The cross bar sits behind the bumper cover with just the receiver showing. I did not find it necessary to lower the exhaust - it was easy enough to reach everything that needed unscrewing or screwing, and not difficult to slip the hitch in behind the bumper cover.

The chrome collar is included, but optional. The receiver is conspicuous even without it, so I thought it would look good to have the chrome collar to match up with the exhaust tips.

It's good to see the new MO's are setup so aftermarket hitches are hidden. The 1st gen MO's were setup so tight that all aftermarket setups placed a bar under the rear bumper cover. A COMPLETE eyesore!

Hidden applications are definitely the best!

@Hokey777 - I will probably add wiring at some point, but this is mostly for a bicycle rack. I saw a grommet while I was under there.

@Warhammer - All the local shops wanted to set me up with a Curt hitch (seems there is a big warehouse for Curt here in Atlanta or something like that), and it does sit below the bumper cover. I'm glad I went ahead to do this myself because it was not all that difficult, even with the MO flat on the ground. Minus assessing the situation and gathering the appropriate tools, it took ~30 minutes and only a small amount of cursing. The hardest part was keeping the cat from climbing on my stomach while I was on the ground. :-)

eTrailer didn't have the Curt one when I placed my order (I bought the T-One). I would recommend the Curt, not only for the white wire connector, but also because the Curt has a disconnect and grommet built in that will fit through the hole - worth the extra $20.

Thanks! I had not seen one available with the white wire connector.

Nice. This will be my next mod so I can get a little trailer big enough to pull my lawn tractor or a washer & dryer sized load.
