My old orange Metro Air Force Commander blow dryer finally blew it's last breath last weekend. I purchased it 21 years ago for blowing off hair and dander when we brushed our golden retrievers and for drying after washing them. I think I replaced the carbon brushes on that 1.7 hp motor, 3 or 4 times and the on/off switch twice. It was built like a tank, held up through 4 different dogs and as of lately, had become my tool of choice for blow drying all the cracks and crevices on the MO when I wash it. It was like a member of the family and I was sad to see it go.
When I went looking for a replacement, I found that the Metro company has expanded their market way past just pet grooming. They now target their products for both motorcycles and cars too. Some people swear by using a leaf blower to "touchless" dry their car, but lifting a "235 mph" red Toro around the car is not my idea of fun. Besides, the neighbors already think I'm nuts when they see how I wash the MO, as I try to keep that black finish as swirl free as possible. Well, my new blow dryer arrived today and the Metro Air Force Master Blaster is definitely one… Bad Boy Blower. Both the dog and the MO will be getting a blow job like they never had. 4 hp for the dog and 8 hp for the MO. The paint job even matches the car! Yup, 20 amp outlets in the garage. Good to go. Check it out… http://www.cardryer.com/Cardryer.html Take care! Jim
