Just picked up my MO today and getting her windows done. I'm sure my tint guy knows, but does anyone know how dark the privacy glass already is?
I've never been a fan of the fronts being lighter that the rears or back, so on all my vehicles, they've always matched, regardless of state laws (I'm aware of mine). My last car used a Pinnacle 20% which was perfect w/ the black interior, but I'm not sure what the backs & rear would have to be to match. |

There is plenty of info online on state laws regarding tint...a little searching will yield the answers you need.
Personally, I see no point in going past what the law dictates. The cost of installing tint, removing tint, responding to tickets, re-installing tint...it's wasted time and money. Install what's legal in the first place and you eliminate all the wasted motion and money. I agree that adding tint is very functional to reduce sun damage to the interior and keep temps down in the summer. I don't see it as a fashion statement. And if you have heavy tint...don't complain if you get pulled over and the officer either has his gun out or his hand on it with the strap released when he walks up. When an officer can't see inside your car, he gets nervous and is 100% entitled to take precautions. Walking up to a car you can't see into is the single most dangerous thing a traffic officer does.

i've even had 10% limo in the past, but found it too dark and had it redone. the 20% i've been getting in my past few vehicles is just fine, and i have never had a problem with it here in the state of florida. but to each his own i suppose. excuse me if i want my front windows 8% darker

I say it again - don't use tint that's outside the laws. All you're doing is buying trouble...and spending hundreds of dollars to make your vehicle illegal to operate. I have never seen any sense in doing that, and my opinion isn't going to change.
BUT - it's your car, your money and your arrest record...do what your conscience and common sense tell you is wisest.
