Question Suggestions for Taillight Tinting?

I have an 05 Mo and I'm looking to tint my back taillights. I'm not sure what kind of tint to use. I have a roll of regular window tint, would that be adequate? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Lamin-X is a good way to tint headlights / taillights / fogs

I know some people who tried it, they are very satisfied about the result

Advice: don't.

You want them as bright as possible!

If you are putting together a show car then tinting the tails can look good on the right car. However, if you intend to drive the MO on a public thoroughfare then reducing the effectiveness of one of the most crucial safety devices on your MO is not a very bright idea (pun intended).

In most (all?) states if you are rear-ended the police with assign fault to the car that rear-ended you. That is just plain common sense. However, if it is determined that the car in front has altered tail lights the blame can be assigned to the lead vehicle.

Trading safety for style is never a smart move.

Amen. Here's the logic....ANY tint reduces light output, which is the last thing you ever want to do. People spend hundreds of dollars to increase light output, especially of headlights...reducing it by adding any kind of tint does not make sense. You need every bit of light to see forward, and other drivers need every bit of light from your taillights to see YOU. I suspect that some folks think it won't hurt to reduce taillight illumination at night - but what about daytime? Brake lights are just as important during the day, but harder to see in bright sunlight.
