with 30% on the pearl white, the windows look more than dark enough and gives the window line that flowing streak.

Thank you Joe...

I thought about the cars that drove by...

And I think I know why so many of the cars I saw had tinting and why they get away with it.

ghetto cruser vs. a 30+ thousand dollar murano... both with tinting, which one do you think the police are going to pull over?

I'm going to get mine tinted to match the back windows this weekend if I can get in the shop.

This article was in the Asbury Park (NJ) Press on July 5, 2006.

Car's tinted window leads to traffic stop and drug arrest

MANCHESTER -- A driver's darkened window led to a drug arrest just before Tuesday's night's fireworks shows across the region.

A patrolman stopped a car on Route 571 at 8:37 p.m. after noticing illegal window tint, according to a press release.

The officer then learned the driver, Christopher Stires of Ewing, Mercer County, was in possession of marijuana, the release stated.

Stires, 24, was arrested and charged with drug offenses and having illegal window tint.

I bet he's real happy about that illegal window tint now.

Easy solution... tint your windows, but don't drive w/ drugs on you. I've had mine tinted for months, pulled up next to cops at a light, and looked over at him, he was looking at me.... lucky for me nothing. I've been in similiar situations a few times where i've next to cops... KNOCK ON WOOD... no troubles yet.

35%.... which you can see in so it might not look so tinted on certain angles. 20% and I think it would be a different story.

I love the 35%... makes the it look like it is going from light to dark as it goes back... compared to black to light with no tint.

Inspection in 3 years... will be whole new story.

The answer is simple:

1) Check regs to determine the limits on window tint darkness in your state.
2) DO NOT exceed them.

When I got my front windows done the tint shop told me the OEM was 20%. I'm in Philly, and was told as long as it matches the OEM then all is good. That's what one of our city police officer's told me.

Its cool man, just ignore the stuff you didn't ask about and follow the links to the stuff we helped you with. There are guys here who are helpful and try to keep you and your vehicle in safe operating condition within the laws but its up to you to make your decision. No offense to Pilgrim or anyone else, just my own personal advice.

Remember, the rear window and rear sides are often darker because they are not critical to your safety while driving because you don't look through them much and they're not primary lines of sight. The front side windows and windshield are primary vision areas for all driving including night driving, and therefore the front side windows are usually a lighter tint. That's probably more a safety consideration than anything.

If you want to tint the front side windows to match the rear windows, I think Turbizzy has a good suggestion with letting the shop match the tint.

As long as the tint is legal and you (and anyone else who drives it) can see through it safely both day and night in all the different weather conditions you encounter, that seems fine to me.
