Doin' good bob. Yeah I'm on the Mercedes site. Clueless for the most part. Even the Cadillac site is a bit better.
Now don't get me wrong, these are good people....but you don't see threads about Changing out the radio or the speakers........and of course the sub board is the GLK so we haven't had anything wear out yet, so still no threads on changing brakes etc........ Of course there are a few failures. And they get just as bent out of shape when a lightbulb fails. No systemic failure to report on either model. But for the most part, no one changes their own oil, etc..... Both of my cars, the GLK and the Caddy are perfect. So nothing to report there. When my daughter died in 2006, it hit us pretty hard. I thought I was going to die. Lotta support here, and I appreciated it. Well, my wife went into a period of deep depression and is now into stage 5 (of 7) dementia. She doesn't remember us getting married or she doesn't remember her brother....she will undoubtedly forget me this year or next. No wonder they call it The Long Goodbye. What I am getting to, is that I should not have bought the GLK. I bought it for her. And it did make her happy. She drove it to the hair dresser and the grocery store a few times. But she can't drive anymore. So now I have two very nice cars. I take turns driving them, but it sure is a waste. If I could change things about the two cars..... I would make the DTS a RWD. It handles very much better than the old land barges, but just about the time I think it is a pretty good handler, it will plow coming off a ramp too hot. And I would make the GLK 4-6" longer. 3" more rear leg room and 3" more cargo would be just perfect. But that frankly is a nit. Homer

At least you made your wife happy with the new car albeit for a short time. We had to deal with the same debilitating situation with my wife's mother for years. She had passed away in October. It is a very difficult battle for the care-taker. I'm troubled by all you are going through. I had been thinking about the original group on this board, so many have moved on and understandably do not show up very often. I to one day like those before me will move on. It's just a matter of time before everyone here does so. Of course one may buy the same car again but human nature usually makes us want something different. I took a test drive in a 2010 Mitsubishi V6 Outlander. Very impressed by it and the 5-60 bumper to bumper and the 10-120K drive-train. The V6 was very powerful and the car was nicely appointed with heated leather and phone voice links via the steering wheel buttons. I made up my mind the next car will not have a CVT. Not that I ever had one lick of a CVT problem. Just the horror story if you run out of warranty and the CVT goes south. It's enough to make one pause and re-think the CVT after warranty. You said that many times yourself. Take care of the wife and stop by now and again. Bob1

NEVER!!!
Before I took possession of it, I had them put a "clear coat" plastic on the front of it. No bugs in MY TEETH.

Indeed, slightly wet dryer sheets do a good job even on love bugs. I do prefer Turtle Wax Bug & Tar Remover though.
