Need Help with wax on Black Trim - Nissan Murano

If anyone has a solution for some careless wax on black trim, please add a reply.

Picking up a 2004 G-35 Coupe on Thursday and noticed the owner was careless and had some wax on the black plastic trim on the side view mirror.

Anyone ever deal with wax on trim? Maybe you had some on black mudflaps on the MO or the front gray plastic on the lower bumper?

If anyone can help with a removal solution, please post.

get a tooth brush and some alcohol and rags

dip tooth brush in alcohol and scrub and wipe with cloth, worked for me.

That's the cool thing about collinite, it won't turn white on black trim unless you over do it. In fact, I do my mud flaps with collinite.

I'm thinking of getting a G myself!

No Kris, I am not selling the MO. I am selling/giving the Altima to my son. He is driving around in a 1990 Jeep with 199K miles on it. He wants my Altima so I get to keep it in the family. I have grown to love that car and still say it was the best I ever owned and I have had maybe 17 cars.

The MO stays, it was always the wife's car anyway. I get the G-35 Coupe in place of the Altima.

Try rubbing some Dawn dish washing detergent on the area. Let it set for a few hours and then wash off water and a cloth. That worked for me on an older car that I had and probably should work on the Mo.

OK, I have 3 suggestions but just to clarify rwm3100. This wax is on the G-35 that I pick up Thursday. I would never be that careless to have allowed wax on the black mirror trim. I'm too much of a freak!

So thanks guys, I have Dawn. Alcohol and Grips Back to Black suggestions.
One of these should do the trick.

If you are still having trouble with the wax...use some peanut oil on a tooth brush, then wash that area...it will take it right off

Actually, if you don't have peanut oil.............then peanut butter will also work.

Yes, peanut Butter!

Damn Homer, see why we missed you? Peanut butter, who woulda thunk it?

Jeep Update, kid tells me the next trip the Jeep will hit 200K but one of the pulleys sounds like an elephant and scared the guard at his work place. LOL

Still 200K is pretty impressive!

He uses the Altima most days but drives the Jeep on Fridays when his drive home looks like a demolition derby as all the crazies come out in a mad dash work their weekend plans.
