They finally came in and are getting installed at the dealer. They are charging $335.00 (3 hours) even if it takes longer. And it is. I dropped it off at 8, it's 2:45 now, and they said 4ish just now on the phone.
Question for BillArf, you wrote on a previous post concerning DRL's: If you do the install yourself, after you re- connect your battery be sure to initialize the power window system. What does that mean and how do you do it? Just in case the dealer does not. PS. got a $15.00 off labor cost coupon in the mail from them the other day. So I will use it....... |

Just check to be sure front windows auto up and auto down. Also, make sure sunroof auto opens and auto closes properly. IF not, have dealer reinitialize the windows / sunroof. See the next post for instructions for window and sunroof initialization.

Initialization of power window automatic function operation to normal:
If the power window automatic function (closing only) does not operate properly, perform the following procedure to initialize the power window system. 1. Push the ignition switch to the ON position. 2. Close the door. 3. Open the window more than halfway by operating the power window switch. 4. Pull the power window switch and hold it to close the window, and then hold the switch more than 3 seconds after the window is closed completely. 5. Release the power window switch. Operate the window by the automatic function to confirm the initialization is complete. 6. Perform steps 2 through 5 above for other windows. If the power window automatic function does not operate properly after performing the procedure above, have your vehicle checked by a NISSAN dealer. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Initialization of sunroof or sunshade operation to normal: If the moonroof does not operate/If the moonroof does not operate properly, perform the following procedure to initialize the moonroof operation system: 1. If the moonroof is open, close it fully by pushing the CLOSE side of the moonroof switch. 2. Push and hold the CLOSE side of the moonroof switch. 3. Release the moonroof switch after the moonroof or sunshade moves slightly to the closed position. 4. Push and hold the CLOSE side of the moonroof switch for 10 seconds. 5. The moonroof and sunshades will fully open and then close. 6. Check if the moonroof switch operates normally. If the moonroof does not operate properly after performing the procedure above, have your vehicle checked by a NISSAN dealer.

Thanks Bill! They did not forgot to do it, but I printed out the directions for future use. If not already, those instructions should be a sticky somewhere. They also reset all my Sat. radio presets.
It took them all day to do it, which was alright by me as long as they got it right. It cost me $308.46 in labor (with a $15.00 off labor coupon) and $517.50 for the parts. I also got a OEM hood protector while I was there, so that will be on when it comes in, maybe today. I am totally loving the DRL's! Very cool and sets my car apart from the other Mo's on the road. Already had a couple of joggers out for a run notice and point at the car as I drove home from the dealer. Have seen a few drivers checking out the car at 4 way stops or intersections. These things are bright! I got up early to go get some ice coffee today and you could use these things as headlights almost. Can easily see them in bright sunlight in the rear paint or bumper of other cars three car lengths back. They look like intense alien highbeams in my neighbors front window when I pull out of the garage, LOL. They light up my entire driveway at night. Did I mention I love them. Only problem now is,..... I have got the Mod bug, again, and I am thinking about the areo kit........ Am going to try to schedule an appt. for some sun blocker film on the windshield and sun roofs today. Clear on the windshield obviously. |

Be sure to contact your insurance agent and tell him/her you now have DRL's. Many insurance companies give $ discount for DRL's.
Yes, DRL's are bright and make the MO standout. I have only seen pictures of the aero kit installed and I personally do not like the look. .

You said you paid a total of over $820 for them? Geez...you'd better really enjoy them then. Glad you finally got them done. Worth it IMO.

Ya, they are expensive. But they don't get much cheaper anywhere else. And I did not want aftermarket DRL's. It was kinda a birthday present. You guys that got them thrown in as part of the new car purchase,...thats great, but I could not get them to do it. Since I will not need to modify too much on the Mo, like I have on past cars, it's not a terrible cost.
Bill, I looked online at the only non-Nissan generated pics of the Aero kit and I am not sure I like it as much as I initially thought. |

If your auto insurance is discounted because you added the DRL's, the auto insurance savings over the years you own the Murano will ultimately pay you back for a little of the $ you laid out for the DRL's. I get $13.67 DRL discount every 6 months. 8-)

Just finished up my install this morning. Started it yesterday morning and probably would have got it all done yesterday if I had fewer interruptions. I can see why the dealers want $300 to install these. Nothing too complicated but there are ALOT of steps and some pretty tight spaces that you have be a contortionist to work in. My hands look like hamburger, but it was worth it. They look great.

Glad the install of the DRL's went aok for you. Off the subject question but what is / what was included in the Accessory Value Package you list in regard to your LE?

The accessory value package was illuminated door sills and roof rack crossbars. It was a $135 special package on the 2010.

for 2011, no packages...lol...it's nav or no nav...that was it! I'm surprised more dealers don't offer packages like that. According to my dealer, because of the huge response to the DRLs, Nissan may start adding them as factory or port installed items. Would be nice because maybe then the price would come down a bit.
