Default Sirius or XM parts/2005 Murano

Hi, I have a 2005 murano with a factory installed radio. I am trying to find the parts needed to have either sirius (my preferred choice) or xm work with my existing radio. Can someone help me out by telling me the part number I actually need to get this set up?

Thanks!!!

If you are prewired for SAT- connector under back seat-
Dealers says SAT Module is 999u9nv003 (XM) or 999u9nv004 (Sirius)

You will also need a Sirius or Sat Antenna and a splitter if use one of these clarion units. The later visteon untis have a single connector but i have not heard if they will work with our 2005 Murano head untis. If you have the bose with SAT button- you are prewired.

Be aware that I have tried nv004 unit off Ebay- could not get it to sync or upload to Sirius satellite after several resets- invalid channel error- a service manager from a FL Nissan dealership said they have had issues with NV004 units once they lose battery power.

Default Successfully Activating a OEM Clarion SAT Receiver in pre 2006 Nissan/infiniti

I wasted so many hours on this! But I am finally listening to Sirius in my 2005 Murano- Thank you God!

The goal of this article is to save you time, effort and aggravation.

If you are trying to use a 999u9 nv003 or 999u9 nv004 that was made prior to the xm/sirius merger in a 2005 or earlier Nissan / Infiniti- Here is a solution.

Problem- the SAT receiver could not be activated through the normal activation process by Sirius because the unit did not have the newer preview channels uploaded- Post merger- I could not tune to any channel.

Assumptions made-
*Your car is prewired for SAT ( If you have Bose and a SAT button- probably)
*You have a functional XM or Sirius antenna (less than $20 from tss radio via Amazon) If you get :"Acquiring" and or "invalid channel" under open sky and the "no signal" error code on your radio display when you cover the antenna with your hand or when you pull into a garage your good to go)
*You have a functional 999u9nv003 or 999u9nv004 - readily available for less than $100 on eBay or $200 new online- There is a Y splitter on these units to attach to single wire antenna- you can buy this too but it usually comes with the used units on eBay. (you will see the invalid channel error code come up on head unit (Radio) after it goes through "acquiring" or "upload" mode, then it should show the Sat receiver ESN# 10 digits.

Sirius/XM support understands the normal activation process (what is ESN number?, Turn on Radio, push SAT go to preview channel, signal sent, does it work?, good bye) - If you say no preview channels they start talking about Nissan Dealer resets (disconnecting battery cable or disconnecting cable from SAT receiver and then reconnecting forcing back into acquiring mode) - DONT WASTE YOUR TIME. Many have from all the forums I have read and I did too! JL

Answer - This came from a very helpful rep at American Radio in Cumming GA on one very stormy night at closing- He said that the only way to get the initial channels uploaded is to "request from the Sirius / Xm support person that the service be disconnected and then reconnected".

I asked this morning. The Sirius guy asked me a few questions to confirm I was the owner- then he complied and disconnected and reconnected.

My radio was powered on in SAT mode, when I called, showing "invalid channel"- Once he sent signal- it still said invalid channel- he asked me to try to go to 184 or any other channel ( I was thinking here we go again)- the minute I turned the dial channels appeared and music flowed from those Bose powered speakers- Yahoo!!
