When I bought my pre-owned 09 LE, it came with the iPod connecton in the console box. There was a connector in there for the iPod...if you contact Nissan they'll give you the part number. Someone had inadvertantly put the WRONG iPod connector in the car when they certified it prior to sale (dealership) and it would play the songs just fine, but wouldn't charge the iPod....so they had to order another one that was the correct one and now it works just fine. Apparently there are different wiring looms and the connectors are not interchangeable between certain yeas although they will plug in and look like they fit just fine. Make sure you get the one specifically for your year and model.

I have contacted Nissan Canada and they weren't much help. I have also talked to my dealership and was told by parts that in the past they have ordered the iPOD connector (not sure if they also need the console box as its not punched out for the iPOD connector) but in the end Nissan told them they can't supply the dealer with the part and that the driver should go to a 3rd party to get it installed.

A. What year and model do you have? if it's an 09, I can try to go thru my paperwork and see if I can find the invoice where Nissan bought the correct iPod cable and replaced the one that was in there. I would only possibly have the info for the cable, not the plug-in. That could have been part of the LE upgrade for the Bose system. They also had to buy me a new sub-woofer....that one was the wrong one too and it ended up creating a dead short of some sort and drawing down the battery. This also points up the fact that the wiring and connections between the different models and years wasn't exactly the same so there isn't necessarily interchangeability between cars. It turned out that Nissan had to order and pay for another sub-woofer...that was $500 and they were'nt happy, but someone should have caught that when they did the Cerfitied Pre-Owned inspection...

Hi Chuck,

I have an 09 SL AWD. It too has the Bose system, I don't have the NAVI but have pretty much everything else. Finding the plugin on the SAT/Bose system will be probably be difficult.

A.: Have you looked inside your console....right at the front in the left hand (driver's side) corner of the bottom of the console....is there a plug in there? The plug will fit one of the ends of a standard USB cable.

If you have the upgraded Bose system, is there a push bar on the dash in the middle, in line with the radio knobs that has three bars...that have the inscription, AM/FM, SAT, DISC/AUX. If you have those bars, the system will find the appropriate function of the iPod or the DISC when you press that bar. Once pressed, my setup uses the NAV screen to display the content of the CD or iPod songs, artists etc. I don't know if that display would come up on the radio screen also if you have the upgraded Bose system, or if it requies the NAV screen to engage this function.

Hi Chuck,

In the Nissan 2009 Murano owners manual on page 4-44 my console looks just like the one without the navi, on page 4-50 I have the SAA1853 center box console; it does not have the USB connector were it shows it in the picture. There not even a plug covering the hole as one might expect there to be, so that's why I suspect the iPOD connector from Nissan is is more than just the cable and plug into the rear of the SAT/Bose system; they would also have to replace the center console box.

I just installed a Dice MediaBridge 1500NIS in my 2009 MO and it works quite well. FYI I have the Bose w/out Navi and a built in SAT tuner. All that was necessary was to plug the MediaBridge into the SAT socket and leave the SAT cable loose. Very easy install. Also adds Bluetooth that works well with my iPhone 4 (iOS5.01).

I tried to order the Dice mediabridge but it was on backorder for like 45 days. (this was around thanksgiving) I just ended up canceling the order because the place I ordered it from seemed kinda flakey and I didnt want them not refunding my money. (I finally got a refund somewhere around the second week in January)

Did you subscribe to satellite? Is it possible to use the kit and satellite? If so, you might have peaked my interest again.

I bought mine from Amazon and had it in a few days. I don't have a SAT subscription so it was no problem for me to replace the SAT-in w/ the Mediabridge-in.

Ah yes, thats right. I think there's a extra cable involved if you want to retain the satellite. And that cable is nearly impossible to find.

You care to post a review? How's the ipod on the factory screen? Steering wheel controls? Bluetooth phone clarity? Sorry for all the questions but I know that many of us with 2009, 2010, and some 2011 models (? not sure here) without the package have been trying for a while to get ipod control (or bluetooth) to work and there isnt a whole lot of info about the dice.

Thanks again for the info!
