Default 2011 DRL's

Gents,

Clarify for me,

I unfortunately did not get the drl's at purchase and will have to add them.
Tell me how they function as factory fitted. i.e. can you turn them on independent of all other lights ? From what I have read , they are on only when the headlights are on ( factory set ) ? correct ?

Any suggestions on where to purchase the factory kit online ? , for some reason as I search lately, I only find 2010 listed kits , which in fact are a different Nissan part number as I can determine.

Anyway , need to get 2011 DRL's , OEM any suggested places to find that are no hassle order etc.

Bear with me , I realize this may have been covered in another post,

Thanks

No. They are only on when no lights are on. As soon as you put on the parking or headlights, the DRLs go off. That's why they're called DAYTIME running lights..lol. Now can they be wired differently?, I don't see why not...but why. I saw the dealership installing them in my brand new 2011 and what they had to take apart was depressing...lol...I had to walk away.

The kit fits the 2010s as well....it's the same kit.

Thanks HVT,
I am having the same reservations about having this done ( tear down of my prestine virgin 2011). But it's just too tempting, I gotta have these damn lights

I am still researching and at Courtesy Parts they list a 2010 kit with instructions that have a slightly different parts list than the Nissan Oem kit parts list for the 2011, maybe a non issue , just has me still digging into the details, maybe someone can explain this if they have seen what I mean.

If it's of any help, my dealers price for the lights was no more expensive than Courtesy....which, BTW, is where I buy most of my stuff.
I had them installed along with the remote start at the time of purchase. They are really really sharp so...lol...I understand why you have to have the damn things! I did too. They are expensive but WELL worth it IMO. Let me see if I have a pic..

Keep in mind, pictures don't do these things any justice at all.

I bought these from courtesyparts for my 2010, and did the install myself. It was not bad if you are mechanically inclined, have small hands, and the patience of Job. The only problem I had was deciphering the diagram of the power block in the fuse box and figuring out where to plug it in for power.

The dealership can probably install in 3 hours or so, but if you DIY I'd suggest allotting the entire day so you can stop and rest whenever you get frustrated or tired.

Once done, it looks awesome and unique. I think I like it better than the "eyeliner" look.

Hi how do you remove the grill? and do you replace the lens or replace them with the new ones. What wiring is required. Thanks. I like the look
