Spoke to some cool guy from the extended warranty and I'm definitely going to another dealer. The guy at Nissan as I said told me he did fax the papers and the company would cover bearings and sensors however labor and bearing (control arm) would be my burden $$$. But he guy from the Extended Warranty told me that he indeed spoke to a gentleman from Nissan but did not receive any documents stating what needed to be replaced. He said whatever part they cover, they pay both for the parts to be replaced and labor. I told him what needed to be replaced and he said he doesn't see any problems for the repairs to get approval. He also told me that he would wait to receive the fax and will personally call me back to let me know what is and what's not covered. So for that reason, I will go elsewhere. Thanks for clarifying Zeb.

Noticed a stuttering front the front end between 45-55mph, took the car into the shop. Worn tie rods. Getting worked on now, not cheap. Oh well, this is what happens when the my MO is coming up on 7 years old now (7!).

Are you changing both sides? I ended up changing both control arms since I plan on keeping the MO a little bit longer than I planned. Bought them online for 156 each and installed both for $60. Have pictures and it was fairly easy. I did half the job since I used a friend's garage but one bolt was a pitta and he stepped in and finished the job before I could wash my hands . As for the bearing, it was covered under warranty. Mo is as quiet as a sleeping baby.

Yeah both sides, inner and outer tie rods. My bet was that only the outer tie rod ball joints were shot, but I had everything done anyways since I'm so busy right now I would not have time to get it done any other time.

MuranoSLVER -- Would be good to post pictures for future reference.

I'm gathering up as much information myself because I'm having some front shuttering issues. I'll take some time this weekend to check everything out so I know what to replace. At this point, I'm targeting the ball joints but I'll check the tie rods as well.

Sorry for the late reply. I will be retrieving the pictures from my camera tonight when I get home from work.

I just bought outer tie rod ends fromMurano Tie Rod Ends

For $23.38 each!! My local dealer wanted $65.00 each! I found this place doing searches for Tie Rods on google and I bought a set this morning and they have already emailed me a fedex tracking number with 2 day delivery. These are not hard to put on if you have a hammer and a pickel fork.

I recently replaced the Struts on my MO, 87k miles, as they were both leaking. I went to Sears earlier today to have an alignment done. While there, they discovered that the Left Outer Tie Rod needs to be replaced. They quoted me at $36 for the part, and $140 for labor. They had not done the alignment yet as they found the tie rod problem as part of the routine checks. So I told them to not do anything and I would be back.

I called my uncle who was a mechanic for 40+ years. He said to buy the part at AutoZone and that we can do the repair ourselves. He said its not a hard job to do, and that Sears was charging way to much for labor.

Just wanted to share my story with the tie rod going bad on my MO.

Ended up replacing the tie rod. Literally took 10 minutes. I recommend spraying some WD-40 on the nut and letting it soak for a couple of minutes. This really helped in getting it loose.

It's amazing how these places want so much money to do a simple job. That's why I love this forum. Everyone is so helpful.
