Default Help - window stuck down

Hi guys,

I have an 06 Murano S AWD and my passenger side window is stuck half-open...

Facts:
- for the past year passenger side window has been closing slower than usual
- when using the switch on the drivers side i hear the clicking on the passenger side switch
- when using the switch on the passenger side i also hear the clicking
- the window appears to still be on the tracks (doesn't close by hand)

What I checked:
- unplugged the switch on the passenger side and inspected for burnt wires

From what I understand the switch sends current to the regulator which then sends current to the motor, is this correct??

Thanks for your time,
Walter

Sounds like your window motor is bad. Try banging on the door panel while holding the switch in the up position to try to get the window closed until you can fix it.

The term "regulator" refers to the mechanical lifter mechanism that your window rides on. The window motor bolts to the regulator and turns the gears which wind/unwind cables to raise and lower the glass. Regulators do go bad from time to time mostly due to worn out cables and/or gears and the only real way to tell if the regulator is worn out is to remove the door panel and have a closer look. May even have to remove the glass and motor and see if it spins with the switch.
