Default 2011 Murano Power Liftgate

I have a 2011 Murano SL and recently the power lift-gate won't open from the back. It works from the inside button and on the FOB, but for some reason the back button doesn't activate it. Wondering if i did something to disable it?

Thanks everyone

There's a switch, in that bank of switches, left of the steering wheel, near your left knee. Just to the right of the VDC switch is one labeled POWER DOOR. I'll bet it's pushed downward in the OFF position. Hope this helps and take care!

On the 2011-12 LE that switch is a momentary switch so it would not be able to impact the lift gate in this situation.

Many thanks. Just went out and flipped the switch - working fine now.

Thanks again

Not on my 11. The switch can be turned on and off. If you flip that switch down, all the button on the rear hatch does is pop the hatch to be opened manually. It turns the power feature off from the outside. I found that out the hard way as well.

I just went and looked at my 2011. I forgot there are two(2) switches there that impact the tailgate. One switch is labeled Power Door Off/ON and the other is
Lift Tail Gate. The lift tail gate is momentary and the other is indeed a toggle switch Power ON/OFF.

Well, at least the OP got a fix.. And my mind has been refreshed to the fact that there are two buttons there.

As I said, I found it the hard way. I was like "WTF is wrong with this brand new $40k car"! lol. I must have hit the switch getting in or out and didn't even know it was there. No idea why you'd want to turn that off in the first place.

Well, 3 new Nissan's I am juggling. A new 370Z, new Juke and the Murano. Hard to remember which has which buttons. Funny, after this forum discussion I vividly now remember the ON/OFF Power Gate button on the Murano.

Mine is an '09 and yes, the switch is there and has the same function. Take care!

Unhappy

Ours quit working when we used the smart key to open the hatch and held the button to long. We pushed it again and it closed back. After that it wont open with the smart key, the button on the lift gate itself, or the button inside. Yes I checked the toggle switch inside, and it is in the on position. When you push the button on the hatch you can hear it unlock the hatch, but the power lift won't work. Help!

Sounds to me like some sort of safety thing. Did you try holding the button longer to see if maybe that's a way to keep from accidently opening it while in your pocket?

Does the warning beeper beep at the same time you hear the latch unlatch? Can you hear the motor trying to go?

Also, if you press the door button twice, it should cancel the automatic opener and allow you to manually lift the door. Will it let you do that?
