Default Wind Noise

Hi,

It's not a big concern but I want to ask this to this forum.
I have 2011 Murano SV and when I drive it around 100kph (65mph), I can hear the wind noise and also noise like whistle. It's not that noisy but I can hear it. I think this noise makes the whole wind noise even worse.
Is there any body who has the similar noise and who knows where it is from ?

Have you added window rain guards or a bug deflector/ Do you have cross bars?

No, I didn't add anything. It's a stock condition.

In all seriousness, eh, it could be a bad seal around one of the windows or doors, eh.

I have a whistling noise also, about to drive me nuts. Have tried to find it, even taking the roof rack cross bars off, to no avail. I hope someone finds the source of their noise and lets us all know.

Are you driving with the sunroof open?

When I drive with open sunroof, I can hear totally different kind of wind noise, of course. What I'm talking about is a regular wind noise plus a whine or whistle noise on top. It may be a noise happening when wind passes through a very small gap, I guess.

That moronic screen thing that pops up when you open the sunroof was designed by either a drunk or a retarded person! I never open it because it makes so much noise and does nothing but catch bugs! It should be, like every other sunroof Ive ever seen, a solid deflector...not a stupid screen.

My MO is very quiet with sunroof closed - almost no wind noise at all (I am very sensitive noise-wise and very picky). I agree that you must have a bad seal some where.

The wind deflector on the sunroof is a joke and I am very disappointed that I can't drive above 30 mph with my roof open :-(

I'd say open the doors, spray all the door sealing gaskets with silicone, let it sit for a couple of hours, then close the doors. That may encourage the seals to expand a bit.

Nope, sun roof is closed. Cannot drive more than 30 - 40 mph with it open, just too much noise. The wind deflector on my Maxima is great, no great noise up to 70 mph or so. I am still looking for a solid deflector for the Murano.

Nissan has an offering for the 2003 - 2008 Murano, but nothing for newer Muranos.

Sometimes when I drive with the sunroof open one faster roads (like the 80kmph ones) get this sound if the air pressure is changing rapidly. So I open a window a bit and it goes away.
