Default '06 Getting new CVT

SES light was on and getting P0744. Took to the dealer to take care of the issue, needed fixed for OH e-check to get new sticker.

Service called and said, I needed a new transmission. Nissan will cover it, Only if I get a full 60,000 mile service done, checking all fluids, new wipers (I just replaced) listed a few others....then said $629!!

I was floored...warranty extension is a warranty extension, or so I thought.

Don't fall for that scam. Take it to another dealer or call Nissan zone.

Yeah...funny part, well, not really funny, I said $600? There goes x-mas for the kids! He then said, well...what if I can get Nissan cover more and you pay $221?

Called Nissan Consumer Affairs...told them the situation...10 minutes after that call, dealer called and said since we are replacing the whole transmission, there is no cost for anything associated with this.

Cost now $0

That was EXACTLY the right thing to do.

And the repair will be the last time you'll ever visit that dealer if you're as smart as I think you are.

I mean they have proven they will lie to you and can't be trusted.

I have no problem with paying a dealer or shop for work done well, but I won't abide one that tries to get into my pocket like they did.
