I am looking for some help from any of the junkyard hounds we have here!
as many of you know i have been researching and unlocking many of the stock stereo secrets. I have figured out how to make one of these complicated little buggers run on the bench and even managed to get a color LCD display for a reasonable price BUT I NEED SOME HELP! In order to get the LCD display connected up on the bench..I really need the plug and a few inches of wire from the wiring harness that plugs into the back of the display for a 06-08 MO! there is only ONE 06-08 MO in the state here and the damn yard wants a $50 minimum for the plug! that's ridiculous. $20 i would pay and even that is high but $50 is just crazy. SO, if anyone happens to spot a 06, 07 or 08 MO in a junkyard someplace and you can grab a few inches of the wire/plug for the LCD display I would GREATLY appreciate it and will gladly send you some $$ via paypal for your efforts and to cover shipping. Please let me know if you can help! Zc

I called that same junkyard you speak of for a pigtail on an electrical part too, yup, $50 for less than 2 minutes work just to go get the park out of the car....I wonder if he knows how much business he lost....

No luck here. No yard in the Abq area has any MO's. Might want to buy a single connector online from Digikey, Allied, or Newark. If I have some spare time I'll see if I can find the connector you need.

all the connectors in the MO's and in fact most vehicles are custom made. there is no stock plug that will fit the plastic housing. I went through this with the Mazda products when we designed some custom stuff. the nissan use the same plugs almost that are made by Tyco/amp. Tyco/amp sells direct to automotive companies and has sales engineers that design and develop all the custom products that are not available to the general public.
We had to contact a company in china to have a plug made that fits the Mazda vehicles. we tried contacting the people at Tyco and they wouldn't even talk to us. i contacted a junkyard online and they said $40 plus $10 shipping. so this must be a common junkyard deal.
