Post Dear Tooth Fairy, I want OEM HIDs and...

Hey guys, I'm looking for a pair of undamaged OEM Xenon HIDs for my '04. I've seen a few on ebay but the prices are way too high for something I don't absolutely need. I'm hoping to score a set for substantially less. Willing to trade in my halogen assemblies as part of the deal.

Other items I'm interested in:

- Rear driver's side tail light
- Shift knob (black) in good condition
- New fogs
- Leather seats (black)
- Class III Trailer Hitch

Thanks!

Just added trailer hitch to my wish list. Need to install one before the summer.

Have you tried Ebay? Also look at Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market. Lots of parts for sale there from totaled MO's. I highly suggest the OEM hitch setup. I personally think the aftermarket tow hitches; that put a bar between the exhaust tips, looks tacky.

I've been sort of lazily looking around online cause I'm not in a rush yet (operative word being "yet", I'm sure I'll procrastinate til last minute). Thought I'd throw a want ad out there on the chance someone local has one and I can avoid shipping. Just being a cheapskate

I'd definitely prefer an oem hitch but don't those require a different bumper? My next choice is a HiddenHitch. Bar seems to be a lil' more tucked away than some other aftermarkets I've seen.

Hey guys, I just ordered a pair of ddm 35w 5000k hid's for my headlights and wanted to know if anybody else had installed them on a 09 and up murano. Any problems, any extra cables I might need to add or buy? Thanks in advance!

Yes, they do. You can find the correct bumper for $100 or so online if you look around...or I have a spare OEM bumper that you can get cheap and cut the required notches out of.

Check my thread on bumper installation and you will (1) see what it takes to install the factory bumper, and (2) see how the OEM trailer hitch bumper is notched. You could make the same cuts yourself in a stock bumper like mine with is available CHEEEEEEP (hint, hint).

Here it is: Factory hitch mounted - with pics

Haha thanks Pilgrim... hint taken! I'll give your thread a read, look up the cost of getting an oem hitch shipped to me and then decide what I want to do. Appreciate the info!

I did the OEM hitch upgrade to my MO. Got mine from a wrecked MO. The guy included the harness in the deal but didn't give me the converter for it. Had to wire my own in.

I took my existing rear bumper and cut out the notches to make the hitch fit. Just a few test fits and had it done. Beware if you do this though, the aluminum is THICK and you'll need something heavier than a simple Black & Decker dremel tool to cut it. I trashed mine half way through. Used a hack saw for the vertical cuts but had to use a dremel/grinder for the horizontal cuts.

Thanks for the heads up Warhammer. I read your posts in Pilgrim's link. Nice job on the DIY! If I were to go this route I'd probably use an angle grinder and/or recip saw.

Pilgrim, I'll likely perform surgery on my own bumper since I'm a fairly avid diy'er... but if I botch the job I know who to call to get a second chance!

I looked up on the ddm website and it said something about raising the amps on the headlight fuse up 5 amps. I dont know if anyone else has had these problems. Any suggestions? I dont know if I wanna raise the amps on the headlights fuse. Thanks!
I have no experience with HIDs but you may want to try searching the forum or starting your own thread if you don't find answers. Asking this question inside my want-ad isn't likely to get you many responses

Mod Note: Referenced post moved to Problem section under own thread.

Well I figured I'd ask since I was looking at this thread before purchasing the kit and thought someone might have had the same issue.
