Ipod Integration Question for 1st Gen. Murano

Excuse my ignorance, but I have a question to pose to the Ipod experts. I have a 2005 Nissan Murano with the Bose SAT ready head unit. I am wanting to connect my Ipod without paying $100-$200 for an integration module.

I am wondering if anyone has used either the 284H2-ZT50A / 284H2-1BA0B cable adapters plugged directly into the head unit?

I understand these cables are for the 2nd generation Muranos. But it seems that it has the same plug as the head unit SAT input. Is it possible to remove the head unit, plug one of the cables in the SAT input, reinstall head unit, and voila, Ipod integration?

Nope. You have to buy the $200 wiring kit for the Xterra. That cable won't even work in the '08 - '11 unless you have the console plug in the armrest.

No, your proposed method will not work.

You need to purchase an interface box and connect it to the SAT connector in the rear of your MO.

Will this work but not allow you to charge it? I see the GTA Kits use the same connection but applies 12v and I was thinking that's just for charging capability. I am not looking to charge my ipod/iphone just get the music off of it.
