Anyone find one online with the aluminum? Not crazy about the black wood grain look.

hello. does anyone know how to connect a AppRadio 2 (SPH-DA100)
to the metra kit to make the steering wheel controls work? I have the stereo installed and fallowed the instructions to program the metra kit. AC controls and stereo work fine, but I feel like I am missing something, what else do I need to do to make the steering wheel controls work? thanks. |

I was planning on ordering the Metra kit in brushed aluminum So the GPS works by itself, correct? Like I just need to hook up an iPod or whatever for the audio/ video. I plan on the parking brake override, as usual. I see that the Android connector, if it even works with my HTC EVO 4G LTE is another $100. doh!

I am struggling to finalize the installation of this kit.
Two issues I would appreciate insight on. 1) there is a 4 pin plug at the bottom of the Metra kit (near the 12 or 16 pin connector). I do not see anything to connect here. Am I missing something? 2) the metra kit never lights or blinks upon starting the car. The kit is not adjusting the heat / air in any way. Is this related to the plug noted above or other? |

I purchased the Metra 99-7612A ("brushed aluminum"...plastic) which came with the 70-7550 Nissan wiring harness and the 40-NI10 Nissan antenna adapter for $249 delivered.
I also ordered the Lanzar SNV65i3D double din unit to replace the factory CD and casette player. The Lanzar unit did not fit...it was a little to big for the Metra dash kit. Apparently the replacement head-unit must be no bigger than 6.875"(W) x 3.875"(H) to fit the opening on the Metra interface. I'm disappointed Metra didn't make the width and height just 1/8 inch bigger to accomodate most of the standard-size double din units I'm seeing on the market. This Metra head significantly limits the upgrade options. |

Apparently the Metra dash kit is not ISO 7736 compliant for double DIN size. Double DIN size is 7" x 4" and the opening on these Metra kits is about 1/8" to 1/4" smaller than that. Very disappointing.

I called Metra's tech service today. The tech explained that the dash kit is designed to accomodate the smaller face plate of major brands like Pioneer, Kenwood, JVC, Alpine etc. He said that even though the head unit for those brands might be 7" x 4", their face plate is small enough for the Metra dash kit to accomodate. He said the kit is designed to accomodate the majority of brands. I call BS on that. He also said that if the hole was designed to be 7" x 4", then people would complain about the opening being too big for the face plate. Whatever. The fact is, it is NOT ISO compliant.

Hi BoNoMuRaNo
Just joined the forum, and moving to Fort Worth next month too ironically. Anyway, just purchased an 07SE with Bose, backup camera and not Nav. What head unit did you end up going with and can you still use the steering wheel controls? Or purchase an adapter. I also don't want to mess with the rear view camera connection and from the little research I have so far done, it looks like that is a seperate and direct connection between the camera and LCD display. Crutchfield will include the kits right now for $140 if you purchase a radio from them. |
