Why... Just why!! I finally have everything I need to install the factory NAV, Parrot Bluetooth with iPod integration, and backup camera. Most of the suff was bought 6 months ago, I just got the display control unit. I even bought the connectors and created a dash harness, all ready to go. The only thing I don't have is the control panel with NAV functions.

Now you tell me the Metra is FINALLY releasing an integration kit which will allow me to install an after market radio with everything built in.

Maybe I'll go ahead with installing the factory NAV to get the color screen and the backup camera up and running. I'll hold off on the bluetooth install until the Metra kit is released then get a receiver with bluetooth built-in. At least I will no longer need to buy the control panel with NAV buttons as the Metra will support these. Plus, I've just finished replacing the OEM speakers, with the exception of the subwoofer, with Infinity Reference speakers. So, when I do get an aftermarket system it will sound great!!

BTW, changing out the factory speakers was a pain... None of the holes lined up, I had to drill holes and install rivet nuts, I had to cut the wire connectors to splice in speaker wire with standard blade connectors, and not one of the speaker wires were the same color. I had to refer to the car manual to determine the plus and minus leads. On the plus side, it is done. If I ever have to change the speakers again, it will just be plug-and-play.

I can answer any questions that you have - pricing has not been set yet, but should be set this week. Parts will be shipping before the end of the month (this one). It is compatible with non-nav cars, with the amber display. All HVAC functions, trip computer, clock all work. Radio display info is lost, but will be shown on the new aftermarket deck.

If this is indeed true, it is big news! I have a Pioneer DVD DDIN unit that I pulled out of my truck just waiting to go into my Mo! Please keep us updated - I suspect that there will be a lot of orders from folks on this forum.

MuranoGeek:

Can you please confirm that this will only work with the non-nav murano?

If so, then I may as well hold off on my Nav install and look into the aftermarket systems that will provide GPS, Bluetooth, and backup camera functionality.

Incidentally, that link doesn't work and neither does http://www.metraonline.com/ . Maybe their server is down, because I do see a web icon in the address bar. it also matches one of the links in my earlier search.

Yes, I can confirm that it will not work with OE color nav displays.

I was speaking with one of the Metra sales reps this morning. He informed me that it isn't in their catalog yet and he doesn't have any pricing. He said to check back in a few weeks.

I wonder if Metra would consider opening up a pre-order process for nissanmurano.org members?

It would be a perfect marketing opportunity. There are some smart guys in here who would be interested in doing a write-up on the process and the results.
