I have the BD PowerPup (the one before the GT came out but they're similar in what they can do) on my 2008 Titan. What I like best about it for the Titan is that it removes a WOT (Wide Open Throttle) restriction the Titans have that won't give full power until, depending on the year, 40 MPH. You can also remove or change speed and rev limiters if needed, advance or retard the timing by 2 degrees and offers 3 different tunes.... Stock, regular fuel tune, and a premium fuel tune.
I tow a large TT so I use the regular fuel tune which adds about 12 HP (premium adds 26 HP according to BD). I tried the premium tune and found it to make the tranny shift kinda hard so I don't use it. I'm not sure how it would effect the CVT, if at all, but find the Murano to have more than enough get up and go for me. The BD I have can be used on the Murano but I'd have to unmarry it from the Titan first and I'm not doing that. It'll also read CEL codes and reset the light.

Hi,
I was wondering if you ever purchased this BD for your murano? How'd it go? I am looking at this bd to give me better gas mileage primarily. What are peoples thoughts on this? With the titan did you notice any difference with any of the 3 programs? What's the deal with regular/preium fuel programs? Use regular you can only use that program? or is the name not related to the grade? thanks! |

I don't have it for the Murano but my experience with it on my Titan is that it did nothing to help fuel mileage.
The "regular tune" and "stock tune" is for regular fuel, the premium for premium fuel etc. I didn't feel that much of a difference with the regular tune but the premium tune gives you a good little boost. I don't use it because I won't pay premium fuel prices and the extra oomph made the tranny shift a bit hard. The huge difference with the BD was that you can change things like speed and throttle limiters, top speed limiter as well as adjusting the timing 2 degrees up or down. I have no idea what effects the unit would have on our Murano though.

Thanks HVT. I'm gonna give it a shot. I found it for $350. I figure if it gives me better bounce for the same mileage, or better mileage I win. If it gives me better bounce for worst mpg then i only wasted 350. It's a low risk investment i figure! I'll post my results.

I've had the tuner in my murano for a while now. No gas savings unless you follow the included coach which does give you about 1 MPG better. U can drive it as hard as you normally would and get increased power without a decrease in MPG I found tho. I wouldn't say it was a waste on money.
