Default FX-35 tone exhaust...

Got this from eBay...

Cheap and bolt-on... If it's too loud for my taste, I'll post it in the classified!

Message from the seller minutes after the auction ended:

Thanks for the quick payment. You got a steal, this setup cost me around 400 to do. You will be happy, and like I said, I would removed the center muffler for better sound. Thanks and I will be shipping the item out tomorrow.

Although I am not sure about removing the center muffler as already discussed. I will test it and try to have a removable straight pipe made to replace the center muffler temporarily for testing purposes.

As I said, you may see it again if it's too loud for my taste. I could also have this low hanging atrocity removed as well if I like the sound. I still am not sure because the result is different from member to member. Some say that the tone is not different with or without and others that it is really bad when removed. I guess I will have to experience it myself.

Dodge Neon, you must be kidding!

Nope, this one was made for the MO and does look a lot more like the thread here...

Does anyone know if a stock Fx 35 exhaust would fit on a Mo? If so, would it require any modifications? I wonder an FX exhaust would have that awesome pitch to it if was installed on a Mo.

No matter what you do to the exhaust, the MO will sound like an V-6 boat motor, due to the absence of "shifting". That is an odd sound for a car.

That's why I bought an SE, besides the sport-tuned suspension, hid lights, it also has 6 speed manual mode. Bye bye boat motor sound!

Default UPDATE

Got the kit installed. Looks like the design of the OEM piping changed over the years so we had to redesign the installation a bit. The Nissan center muffler is still on and while the sound is deeper now and it growls a little, it is just a little louder than stock. I will go on and have the center muffler removed next week. It should be much louder after that.

If it is too loud after that, I will have a glasspack installed in the middle.

Funny that it really sound like a V6 boat although you can now hear very well when the transfer case kicks in and out.
