Well I have been searching for a week for replacement tires for my 03 Murano (she has 118k miles on her) with little luck, but finally have found a shop with the Cooper CS4s in stock. I will post my views once I have given them a whirl. Here are the tires I was considering:
Yokohama AVID H4S Michelin Cross Terrain Cooper CS4 Goodyear Eagle LS Bridgestone Dueler H/T D684II I considered the GY again since the last pair, my second pair, lasted 70k miles (mostly highway driving with 2/32nd left on tread) with aggressive driving and rotations every 7500 miles in the Indianapolis area, but I wanted a tire with less road noise and better wet/snow traction. Don't get me wrong the GY was a better than average tire so I don't understand why some people on this board hate it so much. Now that I will be driving in Cleveland winters I wanted a tire with more wet/snow traction. I initially thought of going with the Michelins but could not justify paying $187/tire (at Costco). Next I wanted the Yokos, but they are brand new and not available for 12-15 weeks and I could not wait that long. By the way Mr. Tire is offering these at $169/tire, but with their buy 3 get 1 free offer it was going to be $127/tire. This shop recommended the Bridgestones, but did not go with them for 2 reasons: 1) built like a truck tire and I was looking for a CUV tire and 2) rated as a terrible snow traction tire and bad for comfort. I ended up finding a Cooper dealer, which is no small feat even here in Ohio their headquarters, and the tires are $138/tire. Interestingly these tires are silica impregnated just like the Michelins which cost significantly more.

Just a question, what is silica and how does it factor into the comfort, noise level, handling, etc. of the tire?

Here's an interesting article about silica impregnated tires: http://www.yet2.com/app/insight/tech.../14640?sid=350

Sumitomo appears to be heading this direction.
