Hi forum members..been lurking and decided time was right to buy a MO...I bought a 2007 SL.. it has the optional chrome wheels which I am not a fan of.. I like the #62517 rim which came on the 2009 and 2010 models.. it has a offset of 50mm vs the 35mm that the 07 has... will this rim work or will I need spacers to make it happen? Any problems switching over the tire pressure system to this other OEM rim? Thanks in advance to any information provided...

The fit will be fine. Just unbolt the old, bolt on the new.
As far as the TPMS goes, unless the new wheels are factory equipped I don't know what the swappage procedure might be.

If I do jump to the 20's the ride quality will suffer correct? In some of the 20's I have seen the 20's show way more gap between tire and fender or am I seeing things? Is this gap different on the 1st to 2nd generation? If I was to go with the above 20" rim at 50mm offset what size tire would you ride? I was thinking of getting the H&R hub cent spacer to bring it back out to 35mm.. is this foolish? I rather have more ride comfort vs performance in this set up. With the above rim there is enough length in the wheel stud to get a proper bite with the lug nuts? TIA

I think Alloy wheels are made from aluminium alloy, usually cast but sometimes forged. Most are made in one piece, but some can be made of three separate parts bolted together at the rim (lots of tiny bolts around the wheel rim). They are generally more attractive, lighter and less prone to rust.
