Default tire recommendation

so I have the bridgestone dueler 687 on the 2010 Mo, and after 10K miles, they are pretty much done, Ive been told by 2 experts id be lucky to get 15K total out of them. I dont really care about that, b/c I was going to change tires anyways since these tires are awful (rating of 5 / 10 on various internet sites confirms that). I dont even trust this tire in rain.

So I was wondering what tire recommendation anyone has? I live in the snow belt, but dont have the money(thanks student loans) or even the space to have dedicated winter/summer tires. I just want a good all season tire.

Im leaning towards the fortera tripletred since they have good ratings and the snow symbol, but I am more than willing to considering other options such as the general grabber hts, firestone destination le, etc. I know the general grabber has won a couple review tests, and the price on that tire keeps going up, ive been told it was originally around 110, then 141, now around 150 per tire. So it seems that tire has become more popular recently.

any opinions appreciated, thanks!

I have cooper CS4 on my murano, its what came with the car when i bought it. I am in the cleveland area, and we got a ton of snow this year, these tires performed great, no issues at all in the deep snow, ice, rain anything. The tire has about 30K miles on it, and its still got a good amount of tread. The tire is Trated and per cooper is a 80K mile tire. Check out the link below, they are selling for $136, you might see if your local places have it and can get you a better price.

That's a good price. Two years ago I put CS4's on my 04 SE, and paid $150 each ($140 each after the $40 rebate Cooper was offering at the time). More importantly, now 27K miles later the CS4's still look, ride and perform (in wet/snow conditions) great. The way they are wearing I totally believe the 80K mile rating and, especially for a relatively `cheap' tire, heartily recommend the Coopers.

but that looks like a pretty nice tire, i will try to research it more

the 80k warranty sounds nice, but thats a non issue for me, b/c i leased the Mo and in 2 years I prolly will give it back and get something else given my personal needs have changed

From what I read, the cooper CS4 tire is the same as the Mastercraft LSR, just a loewer cost knock off. Well, here's my story.

Got a used 2006 Murano about 1yr ago, w/32Kmi. Love the vehicle. it came with four, what looked like almost new Mastercraft Touring LSR 235/65R18 106T tires. started getting slow leak in one tire, now notice both passenger side tires have side wall bubbles. Anyone know of any defects? Need to replace these tires, any suggestions?

Note, I also live in Pitt. Could be due to Potholes? But both tires?

Thanks,
K...K

Apparently, Mastercraft are cheapo Coopers. I gave a detailed report of my experience with Coopers on my 04 SE in the other tire thread you posted in earlier, KK.

i ended up with the GY fortera TT...just got them by mail, and wow, these are some serious looking tires....i can already tell road noise will be high, but hopefully its worth it with all year round performance

nobody around my area carries cooper, and i wanted to see the tire b4 getting it, maybe next time i'll try them

Hi Guys, I'm picking up a 2007 SE today. The first thing I want to change is the tires and wheels. You may think I'm crazy but I want to put mud/snow tires on it as I LOVE to ski and drive back and forth to New Hampshire and Canada no matter what the weather is like. I want to put either Mickey Thompson Baja Claw, or MTZ tires on Mickey Thompson Classic II wheels. I know the MTZ comes in sizes LT265/75 R16 (and it's equivalent 32X10.50R16) and LT265/70R17 (32X10.50R17), and also in LT275/70 R18 (33x11.50R18). My questions are, will the CVT have a problem running with these types of tires, and will they fit on the vehicle without any mods?

Thanks Guys,

Mike
