Default alignment after tie rod replacement

I put my 20'' wheels back on my 03 Murano last week.
and because my tags expire this month I had to
get a safety inspection in order to be able to renew my tags.

well, they found a bad tie rod on the passenger side.
cost me 240 bucks to have it replaced and now my steering wheel its not straight its to the left
I understand that every work performed on the suspension requires an alignment and I am aware of that.

My question is... can an alignment be done with the 20s on it
or do I have to put back on the factory tires to have the alignment done

I'm pretty sure it can be done with your 20's on. I think they end up clamping the sensor for the alignment on your rims/tires.

Sorry to revive a few months old thread, but was this an inner or outer tie rod that was replaced? I ask, because I just had an outer one done on my 04, and it only cost $85 - $45 for the tie rod and $40 labor (1/2 hour). $240 seems high, even for an inner rod which might take a little longer than an outer one.

And, oh yeah, I decided to forego the alignment based on how the car is driving. Plus, the shop that did the work assured me they got it so close that an alignment wasn't necessary. I'll know for sure down the road (literally) if my tires start to wear poorly.
