Local tire dealer (Tire Discounters) has the following tires available:
245/50R20 Goodyear Wrangler HP - $125.00/each Goodyear Eagle RS-A - $155.00/each 255/50R20 Nankang SP-5 - $171.00/each 265/50R20 Goodyear Fortera HL - $168.00/each The person at the tire shop recommends the Nankang because of it's 420/AA/A rating, followed by the Fortera HL with a 540/A/B rating. Your thoughts? |

Consider Yokohama Parada Spec X - 255/50/20. Buy from an internet vendor and have installed locally.

I bought the same tire and size as Bill...got them when Discount ran a special of 4 for 800....great deal and the wider stance makes the car sit much nicer... the ride is smooth, .performance is great under all weather conditioin except deep snow or mud. I really like the wider tires.

Ended up going with the Goodyear Wrangler HPs.
Budget is pretty tight--wife and I have our first child on the way. $650 out the door including alignment, lifetime rotation/balance, etc. I couldn't justify jumping up to $800-$900 and up for tires which may be only marginally better. Only put about 50 miles on the Goodyears, but so far so good. |
