I just ordered 4 CS4's at a local store here in SE MA. $150 each, so $600 for 4 + $30 tax - $40 rebate = $590. Mount and balance is free where I'm buying from.

Will take a week- 10 days to get them (but I'm in no hurry - original Goodyears have only 62K miles so there is still some life left in them). Only replacing the GY's since I know they won't get me through inspection next Oct., and I haven't been able to match this price on the Coopers.

They came in and I had them put on 3 days ago. Appearance and ride (feel and low noise) so far is great. I just hope they hold up as well as the original GY's. And they have a 2 year road hazard warranty from where I bought them.

At 62K miles, I still had plenty (I'd guess 5-10K miles) of life left in the original GY Eagles. But I knew they wouldn't get me through inspection next Oct., so I decided to bite the bullet and go for the new ones.

After considerable research, I had narrowed my choices down to the Coopers and Kumhos. I thought close to $200 per tire for GY's, Michelins, etc was crazy. The best price I could find the Kumhos for was $605 (installed and after tax), so the price was comparable to the Coopers. But the CS4's appear to be a higher quality tire (IMO, of course). Add to that the fact that the salesman I bought from has CS4's on his Acura and (at least he claimed) loves them. Oh yeah, one final thing - I could only find the Kumhos locally at Sears, and I've never been a fan of Sears automotive dept.

Default CS-4 Testimonial

Not sure where my other posts on this tire is on these forums, but they have been OUTSTANDING since purchasing here in ND in November of 2008. With bitter cold, blizzards, compacted snow/ice, heavy rains/wet roads and the ocassional "dry" road conditions to test them in the Coopers have been great...and much quiter than the GY OEM tires I really had no complaints about either at the time. Coopers worth every penny!!

So far - with just under 3K miles on the Coopers - my experience matches yours. I have yet to go through winter conditions, but I expect they will be fine.

We just took our first trip with the Coopers, and were very pleased at the road feel and low noise they afforded. So far so good.

We just got a set of 4 installed on our 07 Mo today so we'll see how they are, but from what i read they are a great tire.

On the Mos 235-65-R18 size they are only available with a 106T speed/load rating, bu there are also h - v rated CS4's out there too.

Any idea on how good these tires are ? any users out in the wild right now ?
Hi I have a set of these on my MO They are great. Tread ware is 80000 and that is great. I can tell you I did lose one mile per gallon. I guess the rolling resistances is not as good but the cost is ok as well. I paid 135.00 each at a mavis tire in ny. The stock good years go about 35000 miles and that is it. So i decided to go with the coopers. Figure I would need 2 sets of the goodyear and one of the coopers so the MPG did not really matter being the goodyears cost about 185.00 per tire. I just purchased a 2011 and back to stock tires so after 30000 i will do it again, allot of research went into the CS4 look at the site

2 years 4 months later (and now with 33K on them) I still couldn't be happier with the CS4's. And they've performed as good as the GY's always did in snow and ice.

They continue to ride quietly, my mileage is the same, and they still have tons of tread left. It looks like they will easily out last the GY's - which those of us who take care of our tires easily get 60K out of. I know I replaced mine at just over 61K, and they still could have gone another 5-10K. A sixth winter here in NE on the GY's would have been pushing it, however.

I got a set of Kuhmo KR21s that I am very unhappy with, makes my 05 Murano drive like a Flintstones car. I am taking them back and getting the CS-4s for about $60 more. I was debating between these and BF Goodrich Long Trail Tours. I went with the CS4s due to the plethora of recommendations. I hope I made the right decision.

I think you'll like the Coopers, tvett. Let us know how they work out for you. I too shopped carefully, and picked the CS-4's based on the good reviews I saw here. I looked at the Kumhos, but stayed away from them when I saw people having problems (specifically balancing them) and the fact that I could only find them at Sears. I won't let Sears touch any of my cars!

Ironically, right after my above post recommending the Coopers, I developed a slow leak in one of mine. It turned out to be just a small nail, and a plug fixed it perfectly. I was really happy I didn't have to replace that one tire. Although all 4 are worn evenly and have lots of tread left, at 34K miles I'm pretty sure that replacing just one (or even a pair) wouldn't be wise with an AWD car. I'd say I'm good for at least another 30K.

Does anyone know if there's a difference between the CS4 and the CS4 Touring, and if so, what the difference is? I saw both shown on the Pep Boys website. The only difference I saw was that the "plain" CS4 has a speed/load rating of 103T and the Touring has a speed/load rating of 106T. Unfortunately Pep Boys only showed a price for the "plain" CS4 - for the Touring model it said to call the local Pep Boys store to get a price and lead time for delivery/installation.

As far as I know, The Tire said CS4 Touring so it is the same thing.

Default American made

Another good thing about the Coopers is they are made in the USA. Getting some on my wife's Murano soon! Thanks for the info, and will report back.

Any deals on these right now? Looking at these and BFG Long Trails. I like what I'm reading about these. Gonib on '06 SL and replacing some Hancook? tires that came on it when we bought it in July '09. Will I see or feel a big difference with these tires?

I'm going to check in on this and tell you the experiences I have had with the CS4 Touring tires on my Maxima. NOTHING but problems from day one. I couldn't keep air in them, 2 of them were out of round, or couldn't be balanced for some reason, they were replaced at no charge to me. In the 3 years I had them, I had flats on every tire, dealer couldn't "explain" the reason, kept working on them to no avail. I had to replace one of them at my cost because it failed.

They were still on the Max when I traded it, and still had a lot of tread life, but they are certainly a tire I wouldn't want again, and I don't plan on buying any more Cooper tires.

Like a lot of folks on here, I bought them because the price was so much better than some other tires for that car. The local dealer is a Cooper dealer, and I thought they would be a good deal. Boy was I wrong! The old adage "you get what you pay for" really rang true with these tires.

And yet again. Starting to look like a troll.
