I am looking at buying a Japanese import 2007 Murano that already has OEM sat nav - all in Japanese of course. I've not seen a definitive answer, but it looks like there is no software way to convert this to English. So I am looking at what I would need to replace in order to make this functional, presumably having any OEM nav system is better than none.
What components would I need to make this work?
From Phoenix' list I took out the major components:
Wiring Harness - Wiring should be the same
Color Display - This should be the same.
DCU - Possibly need to replace this?
NCU - Definitely need to replace this to get the Euro nav working
GPS Antenna - Don't need this
AC/AV Centre console w/bose Radio - Might need a freq. converter, but otherwise should work?
And then purchase the latest 10-11 disc from Navteq.
Yeah I would love if that's all it took, but reading through some other forums it seems like it's messier than that. Can I ask someone with the first gen MO with sat nav, what else is controlled through that screen? Like ac, radio.etc? I really want to buy this car, it's gorgeous and potentially has everything I want if I can get this wee problem sorted
Nice job, I live it and I would love to do same for my murano 07 equipped with orange screen.
But I am worry about the color display harness!!
Anyone know the part No. for 07 murano color display harness? & where from can I get it?

Anyone interested in doing the GPS mod for a murano? I have all the parts (Garmin gvn 53, touch screen, interface, etc) instructions and reqd software.
Unfortunately I m moving to Canada and will be selling my murano. I never got the time to do the work but if you are a DIY it seems pretty straight forward.
Let me know if you are interested in buying the kit and we can discuss price. I will publish on ebay in order to assure a smooth transaction
Right here is the problem with this forum. A seller jumps in on a year old post offering something that has no relationship to the post. Offering NAV for an 08 and up on a post that was about an '03.....
MOD NOTE: I agree. The post has been deleted. -njjoe
