That's what it did to me! I think the GPS drives the clock when one is installed. This is a NAV DCU....

I am looking at buying a Japanese import 2007 Murano that already has OEM sat nav - all in Japanese of course. I've not seen a definitive answer, but it looks like there is no software way to convert this to English. So I am looking at what I would need to replace in order to make this functional, presumably having any OEM nav system is better than none.
What components would I need to make this work? From Phoenix' list I took out the major components: Wiring Harness - Wiring should be the same Color Display - This should be the same. DCU - Possibly need to replace this? NCU - Definitely need to replace this to get the Euro nav working GPS Antenna - Don't need this AC/AV Centre console w/bose Radio - Might need a freq. converter, but otherwise should work? And then purchase the latest 10-11 disc from Navteq. Does this make sense? |

Yeah I would love if that's all it took, but reading through some other forums it seems like it's messier than that. Can I ask someone with the first gen MO with sat nav, what else is controlled through that screen? Like ac, radio.etc? I really want to buy this car, it's gorgeous and potentially has everything I want if I can get this wee problem sorted

Greetings,
I will be swapping my orange screen with navigation once I find all the necessary parts. I do have a few questions about this process. 1) If I find a Murano with a Navigation system and I remove the navigation wiring harness from it will it be a plug and play procedure without splicing, etc? 2) Are the parts for DCU, NCU, Display screen mentioned in this thread compatible with my 05 murano? Do I have to buy those specific ones or whatever the interchange on car part shows me? 3) Do I need VDC on my vehicle or not to have OEM navigation installed? Thank you for anyone's help. |

Anyone interested in doing the GPS mod for a murano? I have all the parts (Garmin gvn 53, touch screen, interface, etc) instructions and reqd software.
Unfortunately I m moving to Canada and will be selling my murano. I never got the time to do the work but if you are a DIY it seems pretty straight forward. Let me know if you are interested in buying the kit and we can discuss price. I will publish on ebay in order to assure a smooth transaction |
