Just received a recall notice on my 2010 Murano SL. 2009-2011. "The filament in the bulb of the daytime running light on your vehicle may burn out due to a shorter lifespan than expected. Should both daytime running light bulbs burn out, this may result in the vehicle being less visible to other drivers.
The daytime running light bulbs will be replaced with a long life bulb." I know this applies to Canada as all new vehicles must be equipped with daytime running lights. I don't believe the US has the same rule but I don't know if the Murano in the US is equipped with daytime running lights any way. As recalls go, I'll take this over what has been happening at other car companies any day. I've had Murray since late October and am quite pleased. |

I could not find any information on Nissan's website. Do you happen to have the recall number? -njjoe

Sorry, removed the letter from by bag this morning. I'm pretty sure it is Canada only. I couldn't find it online either but just found it under Nissan Canada recalls. That says to me it is only Canadian vehicles. Appears to be only 19,000 vehicles so not all Canadian Muranos either. And I'm in good company. It also affects Infinitis but no other Nissans.

@FLfinfan
Canadian models don't use the U.S. spec LED DRls, I believe they use a regular filament bulb and different assembly altogether.

Mattski... correct you are. DRL accessory that dealer installs in the USA is LED.

Apparently, the bulbs burn out at approximately 30,000km. I have just over 6,000km on Murray so am not too worrried. The daytime running lights are also my fog lights.
I went last Friday for the recall as well as my first oil change. The recall could not be done as the bulbs haven't arrived. My Nissan dealer keeps getting emails pushing the date of arrival for more bulbs back by about a week at a time. |
